As you all know, the markets are looking bad this week, and we are on the brink of a recession—hopefully not.
It's a very 2008 sticky situation :emofish:

There's an election soon, and Kamala Harris feels like our new Barack Obama.
Once she's president, everyone will be very hopeful about the future :eli: :fan:
Everything is cyclical. It's a circle.:celestial4:

We have an European Phenomenon shakin and shifting the charts sonic palette to something dancier

All these events will lead to more uplifting music and positivity, helping people forget about their problems. :gaycatina1:

Bye Bye to the Moody angry depressed minimalist Pop of the early 2020s

Now we have a new group of Pop Girls ready to ride this Maximalist Wave.
This Colorful Renaissance
aka RECESSION POP 2.0

Chappell Roan, with her campiness, great performance skills, and LGBTQ+ support, is definitely turning into the next Gaga. :gaycat4:
Once her sophomore album is out, it will be over for everyone.

Sabrina Carpenter is very summery, sweet, cute, girly, and a sexy bombshell like Katy Perry in her Teenage Dream peak, but less cartoonish and with an edgier tone. She's also very charismatic and funny. Big Hits are coming
:chick1::gaycat:

Then we have Tate McRae, who's the underdog.
Not as powerful as Sabrina or Chappell fame-wise, but with a very promising career. :gaycat3:
She's like the Kesha of our times.
She has a niche too—Kesha was glitter and party, while Tate is choreography and Canadian things like hockey. :alexz2:
Her new record is coming, and there are 4 sure hits on it.

And we have Tyla, the most promising Black newcomer of this generation with Tinashe.
She's just starting, but once she works with American producers, she will obliterate everyone :khalyan2:

Her looks are also iconic like Rihanna's, and she's very exotic, blending the best of her african culture with the world.

Next year, she will take over the charts. :gaydonnacat1:
Her first debut feels very "Music of the Sun," honoring her roots.
Her "Girl Like Me" or "Good Girl Gone Bad" era is coming. :clack:

Too much free time. That's it.

That's the problem of a lot of people on this site.

There really isn't a recession coming (the stock market recalibrated) but I'd absolutely love for the late 2000s/early 2010s sound to come back.

As an old ATRL fomo who opened their account back then, we took that era of pop for granted.

Yes.

I just want big production (no Jack Antonoff type s**t). I want everything including the kitchen sink thrown in to the mix. I want to experience repeat listens with headphones on and hear sounds I never previously noticed whizzing past and think "what the f**k was that?".
