thedeathbymusic Posted August 5 Posted August 5 As this past weekend and much of today leaves me and my sisters in the US Election thread stressed about Kamala Harris VP pick, it reminded me of the feeling of stressing over chart debuts (like the weeks of Rain on Me & Shallow going #1) What are some of the most stressful release weeks in your careers as professional ATRL stans?
The7thStranger Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Pretty sure some Monsters are still in the hospital after Artpop's release. 10 1
chaneloberlin Posted August 5 Posted August 5 positions (single) release week vs. that luke combs country song. Ohh the other fanbases were trying it I also think vampire vs. whatever country song that was too.. she had to overcome a lot. (final thing. Say So vs. Savage was very intense too) 2
Ewan Chaos Posted August 5 Posted August 5 The week Levitating was meant to go projected to go #1 here in the States. At least they couldn't take away the Year End #1 from her 2 1
bielneira Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Lorde releasing "Solar Power" (single). Everything went south with that release LOL
Alex Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Say So vs. Savage Remix was soooo fun, probably the last time I gave af about the charts

Romova99 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Kylie's DISCO against Little Mix Confetti. They were SO close, and both had great reasons to debut at #1, they came for BLOOD. 3
k4rmabutterfly Posted August 5 Posted August 5 HMHAS for sure, Billie stans were stressed, Taylor stans were stressed, their teams were fighting, Billie and Taylor were both doing the most for the #1, whew 1

For example Witness release week with Katy doing a full livestream during FOUR DAYS to 'celebrate' the release. Her public image was already in danger, and having cameras on her recording everything she said and did turned off the GP even more, and of course, the livestream was stressful
suburbannature Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) The one with 9/11 when the artist was literally in a mental hospital during the entire release week Edited August 5 by suburbannature
UseYourIllusion2002 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Probably the release week of Applause when the little monsters had to go to a bunch of craigslist's meetups for sales

I don't know. We all want our fave(s) to do well of course but I had no idea someone could feel real stress over an artist's chart performance, no shade sis lol. Maybe some people get too invested in charts/awards etc, when in reality those things have zero importance for listeners. People should just enjoy music and take it as it comes, the rest is only fun for some shady threads and nothing more lol 1
Trash Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Not stressful but annoying when BB blocked Britney from the #1 debut for Blackout hjklj
Princess Aurora Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Taylor ''blocking'' Billie and Charli on the charts. It felt like an anime battle
gustavothehuman Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) I still have war flashbacks with Music of the Spheres' release week. Things were fine on ATRL but critics lashed Coldplay so hard, this is why I never shut up about the tour giving them a career renaissance Edited August 5 by gustavothehuman

TouchinFree Posted August 6 Posted August 6 13 hours ago, Erreur2 La Nature said: Stressing over charts ? Gurr come on as Brit Stan's we had our own stressful week. Blackout was supposed to be #1 then they changed the "rules" 12 hours before final decision. The Eagles ended being #1 wr were perf....uming to say the least
BGKC Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Beyoncé as Nala in TLK was rough. The Gift's floppage was already bad enough, but the way she turned it into a film called "Black Is King" exclusively on Disney+ was just so polarizing. Then again, all those white people who were so mad about the title wouldn't have given it a chance either way. It deserved so much more.
Alldeezy Posted August 6 Posted August 6 why care about charts lol most stressful release weeks is normally when all my faves decide to drop to make streaming harder 1
