EnigmaticAndroid Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Chappell is an actually new artist and makes better music so her Sabrina can win Pop Solo

RoseBud Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Why is everyone in here turning on Sabrina ? It should be re-named Break Out Artist of course. Sabrina's year, once her album drops, will dwarf Chappell's and they will have to give it to her. Grammy's won't care how long she has been out.... The cherry on top is that there are alot of Swifties at the academy who will support her....

favorite crime Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Sabrina being eligible is so fraud. Even if you arbitrarily ignore her first 4 albums because they were not successful enough, EICS has over 2Bil streams and is one of the most streamed female albums of 2022. How does that not disqualify her for this year?

Her peak sure, but EICS did more streams in a year than all eight of this years nominees amassed during the eligibility period
shinyshimmery Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Yup, Chappell can take BNA. Sabrina can get record of the year, or SOTY, or best pop vocal/solo. The best new artist award seems like a consolation prize, plus most of the artists who win it fade into oblivion after.
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I like Sabrina more but I still think Chappel deserves it more since she is much newer. This category needs to change its name to Best Breakthrough Artist cuz...

Just because she's been flopping for an eternity doesn't mean she's new. The category isn't "Best First Album" tho. Chappell's been releasing since 2017...

diemoehre Posted August 4 Posted August 4 A bit too early for me to guess. Depends on how well Sabrina's album does and what Chappell does next.

At least four of the last six BNA have had big commercial success Dua, Billie, Megan and Olivia. I don't know enough about Samara and Victoria but I think they are still around as well.
QuanticXplosion Posted August 4 Posted August 4 The Xtina of this generation should win her deserved Grammy award.
