Big Bad Wolf Posted August 4 Posted August 4 There's nothing intelligent about TTPD. It's sophomoric, whiny, self-indulgent, and immature. At best, the album is reflective. But an album with songs like 'Down Bad' don't require intelligence to appreciate 3

I might check out the others but FTBC back in the day, well i like pop and rock music. And also out of the 2 Fionna Apple stans i've met, one is a complete ghoster who doesn't respond to texts but will say hi to you when he bumps into you. So i'm not too keen on getting into her. The other is also a Lana stan and really sweet. So maybe i will get into her. But basically, i did try and dive into her discography. So i will try to again soon. 1

If one easily concludes intelligence level of few other people who do not like an album of an artist they adore and like, I guess the supreme decider has got self-deemed special power from Taylor to vilify dislikers of any of her album. Talk about intelligence
By the Water Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I would hope not but considering how much that simple asylum lyric twisted people's brain I fear that might be the case 1

Complexity is nice. Taylor dumbs down her songwriting and makes easily digestible music, while the other albums mentioned are actually quite exquisite and musically rich with lots of depth and substance. TTPD is Taylor whining about being broken up with and being cringe for 30 songs. 1 5
JorgeM Posted August 4 Posted August 4 TTPD is music that they can't listen in glory holes or dark rooms so they don't like it. Taylor has many gay fans like any pop star but that kind of gay usually hates her 1 2

Just a Gay on ATRL Posted August 4 Posted August 4 We didn't need another thread to validate Swiftie's superiority complex. I like Taylor but I can't stand when her fans act like other artists' music who is much different than hers is somehow beneath them. It's not cute and I've noticed they've done it to any other female pop artist who gets acclaim at the same time as Taylor. Just because Charli's music has themes of partying and EDM beats doesn't mean it's not well made. 1 1

OT - I love having a brain that is able to listen to cardigan and Vroom Vroom back-to-back on shuffle and enjoy them! Swifties who pretend they are stanning Fiona Apple or Joni Mitchell and resort to homophobic insults because others don't share their opinions are bottom of the barrel. There is this tweet going around currently of a bunch of more feminine gay men having the time of their life dancing to 360 in a dance studio, and I've seen it being used as shade/a drag for "the kind of fans that like Brat" including by Swifties, and it REEKS of internalized homophobia and makes me sad it's seen as acceptable. It's the same kind of schoolyard bullying a lot of us had to endure as a child for being not as masculine and liking more "feminine" things, just transferred online. Some things never change, sadly. 1 1
