Trash Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I would give it at least an 8.6, in a perfect world a 9, but that's asking for too much. In my opinion ITZ would deserve more, but I doubt they'd review it other than Toxic's imapct, and even if they do it wouldn't go higher than Blackout. 2
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted August 5 Posted August 5 No matter how "overrated" this album is according to some pop stans, Blackout is still one of the best albums by any pop stars in the 21st century and i stand by it! 2 2 8
Bones Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I mean it was the iconic moment of my childhood, me tryna sing like her and dance like her on the wall of my room, tbh some of the songs are embarrassing now that I revisit but still the production is one of the best…. 1
JoeAg Posted August 5 Posted August 5 i'm at work and i still have 2.5 hours of this overnight shift and it's soooooo sloooowwww that i think it's time to stream Blackout while I chill at the desk also this thread is iconic and that review slayed me when I was reading it during my shift yesterday lol 5
JoeAg Posted August 5 Posted August 5 hey baby whether it's now or legy you can't shake me, cause I got you on my joedar;)
lonnie Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I agree that Blackout is a wonderful album, but even though I think JT is a dick they're lying about FutureSex/LoveSounds not holding up as it's also a good album too. 2 1
brenda-walsh Posted August 5 Posted August 5 this whole "review" is literally just about her life and 2007 pop culture the non-review review they did when the album originally came out is so much better
M!X Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I really enjoyed reading this review, wish it was a 9 at least though Like it's an all killer no filler kind of pop album 5
fromily Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Deserved higher but I actually enjoy this writer's work a lot (they did the brat write up too) and thought this was a really good read. As a review of the album itself, I think expecting a track by track breakdown is just unrealistic. Britney's messed up personal life massively informed the album's tone and direction so I don't take issue with it coming up in reviews. The one thing I did find odd tho was the total absence of any mention of the original doll shenanigans. Also obviously very sad her talking about enjoying driving her car and then not being able to do that (and even now that she can, having difficulties). Along with everything else it just shows how targeted the cruelty she endured was. 1
