A Million Lights Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Not talking about singing, talent etc. I'm talking about straight up legacy and impact Billie is undoubtedly the biggest Gen-Z star, much like Britney was in the early 2000s. I think they're pretty much on pair 2 4 4
A-V-XYZ Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Neither Billie or Britney are the most impactful artists of their generation. Deal with it! 2 3
Abracadabra Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Billie is definitely the biggest Gen Z icon, but there really aren't any artists that have debuted in recent years that come close to the impact and cultural ubiquity Britney had. 6
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Billie won two oscars and AOTY before she dropped her third album 3 1

Devin Posted August 3 Posted August 3 love britney. love billie. but these 2 very different artists & careers.
gay interrupted Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Olivia's rise is much closer to Britney than billie. Child star breaks out of Disney with a monster first era becomes a teen icon then follows it up with another big era that's sonically very similar to the first. obviously Britney was in a different league but in terms of career trajectory and impact I do think Olivia is a better comparison. I'm curious to see what she does for her third album and if she branches out from the pop rock a little like Britney did
EtherealCat Posted August 3 Posted August 3 there names do both start with b but i think she is more of a gen z beyonce
wish Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Yes, Billie is the leader of young Gen Z female artists similar to how Britney was the leader of young Millennial pop girlies in the Y2K era. 3 1
Love Drought Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Celebrity culture was very different back then, so I'll say no cause some of y'all were literally born in 2004. 2

worldwide angel Posted August 3 Posted August 3 omg remember the "pop girl prophecy" discourse in 2017/18 given that the only pop girls that were seemingly considered or eligible were always white and blonde ( ) billie was a popular contender and i definitely see a lot of parallels between them. billie's influence on pop kind of mirrors britney a lot so its not far fetched to me 3
Gorjesspazze9 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I don't think people realize how much different Pop icons were. Pop culture was vastly bigger. And that's not just me being an old head, it's true. Britney Recognition was more on the level of what people see Taylor today. (And no I'm not saying she was bigger then Tay Swifties, Chill) just putting in perspective of how massive Britney's name and face was in Y2K times.
