Josh Posted August 3 Posted August 3 The 2010's saw the mega success of Gaga, Rihanna, Nicki, Adele, Katy who are the titans of the 2020s pop music besides Taylor and Beyonce?
Spicy Pisces Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) Billie and Olivia, while Chappell and Sabrina are on their way to be. Charli is the 2020s of what Kesha was in the 10s = the party girl Edited August 3 by Spicy Pisces
єѕℓαм Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Chappell = Gaga Olivia = Taylor Dua = Rih Sabrina = Katy Billie = Lana vibes + a touch of adele Charli = Kesha Doja = Nicki 2 1
Vegvisir Posted August 3 Posted August 3 The thing is, I think this era of pop is showing something new that hasn't happened before: a group of multigenerational MPGs. I think all those girls listed are still the main girlies, ALONG with the newer/younger artists.

Also, what hasn't been seen before from girls like Sabrina, Chappel, Charli, Billie and whoever else? LMAO. Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift etc. were (and are) all multi-generational hence why their overall numbers thwart the others and why they're still recognised decade(s) in. Alex Posted August 3 Posted August 3 if Doja manages to secure some hits for the next album cycle, I'll go out on a limb and says she's this decade's Rihanna

Fitzswiftie Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Adele = N/A, maybe RAYE in the UK only Gaga = Chappell Katy = Dua Nicki = Doja/Megan* Rihanna = Tyla * Doja basically perfected the pop/rap crossover of Roman Reloaded without losing credibility and now thats the model every new rap girl eventually tried to chase at least once. Megan in terms of raw skill.
mrpartyrocker Posted August 3 Posted August 3 none of the girls compare to the ones mentioned in the OP because they are totally different and it's a totally different era overall! the music is consumed in a different way to how it was back then. what made the 2010s era special was the fact that popgirls were focused on addressing their audiences and they were very consistent! today it feels everyone just does what they want, they're pretentious and don't have the same drive!
mrpartyrocker Posted August 3 Posted August 3 and y'all need to stop comparing Chappell to Gaga. they're nothing alike and their music is also very different. just because you see Chappell pulling some extravagant outfits, that doesn't make her the new Gaga!
CherryBay Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Nicki - Doja I suppose Adele - Beyoncé the only that can sing live Katy - Ava Max Rihanna - Tate Gaga - Sabrina Carpenter
