Two millenial pop rock queens.

Who is more talented? Better songstress? More prolific songwriter? Beloved and respected by GP and millennial peers?

Discuss respectfully.

Demi and Hayley through the years:

Typing this as I'm sitting at the Eras Tour and Hayley just devoured her set, the answer couldn't be more clear to me

I feel like both are severely underrated and don't get enough credit, but Hayley has better control over her vocals AND is the better writer imo. :WAP:

Two different artists with two very different careers and trajectories. Both girls are incredibly talented and they have proven it throughout the years. Demi has proven to be incredibly versatile as she's touched almost every genre out there, Hayley has stuck to rock and has excelled at it as of lately.

As for vocals, I feel like Hayley has not explored her voice enough while Demi has done the opposite. She is still training and discovering new aspects (and new highs) of her voice while implementing them in her music. I find Demi's vocal career far more interesting and better than Hayley's.

As for songwriting, I prefer Hayley/Paramore. Demi has good and very good songwriting moments but also very bad. She's been a mainstream pop girl for most of her career, unlike Hayley/Paramore, which has affected her songwriting. Demi's songwriting has been improving non-stop since Tell Me You Love Me up to now though, so good for her.

I prefer Demi but Hayley is incredible and even Demi herself would say Hayley since she's a stan. Both are still criminally underrated.

Damn even people who don't like Taylor's music attend her concerts :clap3:

Obviously Hayley, her music is acclaimed for a reason :dies:

Seen both acts more than once. Demi, by a landslide. Kinda wild to see HW win the poll when (especially in recent years) she's guilty of the straining, screaming, tasteless style of vocals that we all equate with Demi when Demi has a lot more skill & precision, as well as a nicer tone. Swifties have been too kind. The clips you're seeing of her opening set are the highlights. When she tries to take the crowd to church in Ain't It Fun's outro… devastating amount of cringe. I'm not tryna be mean but the discrepancy between the hype and what you're actually getting is wild

Where is the OP specifically talking about vocals? :ahh:

This is so funny how you avoid the talent/songwriting/respect discussion :dies:

the only thing linking them together is they are both singers…do you want me to rate their dancing or cooking skills? let's use our common sense here, please

Demi doesn't write songs? She doesn't release her own music?

The nitpicking :rip:

Paramore has stuck to rock mainly with influences from other genres. After Laughter is their only non-rock album. 1 out of 6 albums. You happy now?

hayley williams solo projects are not rock. those two albums have more versatility and range than demi has shown.

Hey just because I'm very critical of a lot of her recent material doesn't mean I'm not a fan. I've been to Cardiff to see her and I have tickets for 3rd show :allears:
