SOS 2 years in still on autoplay , getting weird updates. Why?

So , time for another autoplay thread from yours truly who have been dragged numerous time for calling out autoplay

"Snooze" On Spotify Global

Yesterday: #91 — 1.66M

Today: OUT

"Nobody Gets Me" On Spotify Global

Yesterday: #106 — 1.58M

Today: OUT

I have been noticing the autoplay fraud in SOS for long time but was ignoring it as the album was anyways massively successful

Both of these songs soon will be 2 yrs old , so there is absolutely no reason for them to go out of the charts on a random Thursday and to no surprise it's beginning of August

SOS has been getting insane amount of autoplay and weird updates at beginning of every month but looks like her label finally dropped it , maybe it will be back soon who knows

This album is not alone. There is also AIW from Harry Styles , the label clearly wants Blinding Lights record in that case.

This is becoming more and more common. What can be done?

Beginning of each month ***

Every month Spotify autoplay gets renewed , these songs shouldn't be falling on random Thursday
Not only this but Flowers went -54 too on charts

something is extremely weird lately

Time for you to find another hobby.

SOS is already one of the biggest of the decade. There are random songs being pushed on autoplay every other day. It's a mess, but that's just how Spotify works now. If you're gonna be mad about it each time, then maybe stop following charts/Spotify updates.

No one is saying it's not

Also these 2 songs have been on autoplay for months actually this whole year not just 1 month or few days. That definitely impacts the chart

Just the algorithm

:michael:

SOS is outstreaming Midnights, Un Verano, and every other 2022 album on Apple Music currently so it's not like the success was created by Spotify. It was a legitimate smash.

And if her label wanted to send checks for autoplay don't you think they would have instead did it for her new single "Saturn" for her upcoming album and not 2022 songs :rip: Her new single is doing relatively average on Spotify despite smashing on radio.

SOS is winning the long game and people need to find something to nip. When LANA drop it will go up once again and they will call it autoplay

As I said, it's just how Spotify works now. The algorithm is algorithming. It does impact the charts but so do playlists, etc. After all, these songs were legitimate hits so a few thousand streams added from autoplay won't change anything. Streams were never 100% organic anyway.  :michael:

I fear it has not received enough autoplay. We need even more so it can outstream Midnights at a faster pace :clap3:

looks like 3 months deal. snooze jumped on may 1st 40% from 1.5mln to 2.1mln (so if we assume it had around 500k streams from autoplay each day, it generated 45mln streams in that period)

I'm in full accordance with you because the album and these songs were gigantic and the genuine interest from the public has helped its position in the algorithm, but these songs dropping at least 100 spots off the WW chart literally overnight is indicative of more than a few thousand streams :hoetenks:

This is how spotify works for huge songs. :rip:

On september I'm going to post: Taylor's August suddenly dropped. Why is Taylor doing autoplay fraud for a 5 year old song?

The #s of streams are consistent, though, according to Kworb. Positions do not tell the whole story

The kworb chart hasn't updated yet. The #200 on the Aug 1 chart (Cold Heart) is at 1.246M, so Snooze lost at least 400k overnight, which is a 25% drop.

Yeah Spotify is acting super weird at the beginning of each month. The way random Bruno Mars songs jump massively every time :rip:

Like what is going on?

I assume the autoplay/algorithms get updated?
