Should Chappell Roan re-release TRAFOAMP or move on?

Her 2023 album has so far peaked at number 4 on the BB200, without her breakout hit "Good luck, Babe!" being attached to the album.

Do you think she should capitalize on her newfound success by releasing a deluxe version of the album with "Good Luck, Babe!" and a couple more songs added, or should "Good luck, Babe!" be the lead single for her sophomore album?

Wonder how much she would be doing with GLB on the album 🤔

Don't know what she or her team gonna do but they'll do what's best for her career at the moment. In the meantime my 2 cents is I would like to see them leave the debut album untouchable as it is already a perfect album and see the GLB as a single from the second album and follow up with Subway or any other song.

Keep it to help the second album be a smash

Drop Subway the second single any day now

Release the next album in September after Sabrina has her August moment.

One can dream :smitten:

But more likely it will

be subway gets released in September after Sabrina has her moment and when GLB is peaking on radio, to give GLB a significant boost on the charts (similar to PPP and Espresso)

There's no reason to if it's already smashing two years later without a release. Madonna's debut teas. Save the new single for the second album.

Good Luck Babe is a new era

Her debut is a good album but it's time to move on. If Good Luck Babe and Subway are any indication, she might be headed towards an AOTY :grill:

Deluxe re-release for sure.

To the people saying use it as the lead for the second album: how many times have we seen artists try to do that and then have all the hype for the single and album die before it's even released. If the album isn't coming until 2025, the re-release is the best path to victory.

Tagging it onto her debut will also probably help her album chances with Grammy voters too.

Her Debut streams are set and gonna continue to get good streams. She should keep this as the lead for the new album and help its streams and longevity on Billboard so she has two albums with longevity and consistent sales/streams

Ngl, she should move on and release a VERY strong EP to not only keep interest but also keep the momentum going that she has/grow it. Then release a second album where she gives it her all.

And I'm 99% sure the visuals for her next release are going to be out of this WORLD now that she not only has the budget/notoriety but also the interest in her label to invest in her even MORE.

I've been wondering about this too.

I agree, I feel like unless the new album is coming out relatively soon, a re-release makes more sense.  She seems to be in a position to win either way though with her current trajectory.

She should release the deluxe with some acoustics and remixes and keep glb and other new tracks to the sophomore

I feel like its too early for a second album when the first just started smashing so a re-release with GL,B! and Subway might make more sense....

She said GL,B! is part of a new era not an extension of Midwest Princess. She doesn't seem chart obsessed like some other artists these days. I'm sure everyone involved is happy with the surprise success. But lbr w Zach, Taylor and Morgan hovering in the top of the album chart they'll have to do more than an anniversary vinyl pressing to get #1. They should just leave it as a solid sleeper hit debut. #4 is impressive considering the competition.

My guess is Austin City Limits will be the end of the MWP era and then she'll be able to finish her second album. I can honestly see her taking a break for the rest of the year after that. She's been on tour all year and this album only came out 11 months ago so I doubt she'll be ready until next year. She doesn't need to **** out a rerelease or ep either. Everyone wants more more more right now but someone like Chappell will be better playing the long game.

they could do a Fame Monster and have it be a rerelease but also a new album

She should just strike while the iron is hot and try to jumpstart a new era soon.

I feel like embarking on a new era is the more natural choice. Since she blew up, a lot of people already discovered about her debut, so it's pointless to rerelease it since it's doing quite well.

Releasing a new album will only give her more hype since she would benefit a lot with newer material

I agree with you, but I also feel like a re-release seems natural too because she released GLB! just 6 months after the album, prompting it to becoming a sleeper hit alongside the single.

I like the idea of a re-release now (hopefully it propels it to a #1 peak on BB200) and then no more singles after GLB!, taking a break to build hype and then releasing the lead single to the sophmore album later this year.

It's only 11 months later though, and she released GLB! 4 months ago.

Oh I thought it was released September 2022 and not 2023, my bad. My point still stands since Madonna and Like a Virgin were released only 1 year apart.

I'd be here for a lil Midwest Monster re-release
