Dumb conservatives wrongly accuse female boxer Imane Khelif of being a man

Recommended Posts

Theres an uproar on X amongst the brainless conservative community. They accuse Imane Khelif (who is an Algerian born female boxer) of being a biological man without any proof.

Despite Khelif being born female and not identifying as a man or trans, bigoted conservatives immediately assumed her identity to be that of a man. She has elevated levels of testosterone that lead her to have XY chromosomes however, this doesn't make someone a man.

Since when is The Guardian a conservative publication? :rip: It's front page on their website right now:

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/article/2024/aug/01/angela-carini-abandons-fight-after-46-seconds-against-imane-khelif

There article begins with key information on this issue, proving your post to be misinformation:

Italian boxer Angela Carini broke down in tears after she abandoned her bout against Algerian Imane Khelif after 46 seconds in a fight that sparked huge controversy at the Olympics.

Khelif is one of two boxers permitted to fight at the Olympics despite being disqualified from the women's world championships last year for failing gender eligibility tests.

So, which one is lying? The conservatives online and a giant, left-leaning journalistic establishment... or you? :rip:

Anyway, the Olympics is really bombing hard with PR this year.

They are reporting misinformation. Algeria and the Olympics qualified her.

Khelif is not trans or a male like these people claim she is. She has a disorder of sex development which causes some females to have XY chromosomes, this does not make someone a man. Pictures of her as a young child proof that she is in fact a woman

Funny how your OP didn't include any mention of her "biological disorder" that "gives her X/Y chromosomes." lol

It took me to point our misinformation in your post for you to add more important context to this story.

My OP literally mentions she has XY chromosomes and that she is intersex. Before I edited it to add the tweets.

Nah, you edited it before that! Not cool, bro. Keep it consistent.

If Imane Khelif has a disorder of sex development then that seems pretty unfair, and i feel that can be stated without denigrating her womanhood. Boxing is the one area of sport that deserves this extra layer of scrutiny because the fighters are literally going mano a mano. It's why combat sports have weight classes and all that, mismatched strength levels lead to catastrophic outcomes

This isn't a transgender/gender ideology issue. I'd urge everyone to not fall for their trap by engaging along this line of debate.

Is there a reason why there can't be separate sport competitions for cases like this? Men vs men, women vs women, trans vs trans, other vs other, etc.

But does even that change what the OP said? Regardless of any chromosomes, she is not a man nor a trans man, which is what these people are peddling as having been the case, which is what the OP is addressing.

Literally. And i in fact did mention it from the very beginning but that isnt even the point. Its the fact that conservatives with millions of followers are spreading clear and blatant misinformation about an Algerian woman.

They're the first ones to scream 'biology!1!' and that bs but when actual biology, genetics, chromosomes and all of that come to bite their *ss they resort to keep hating anyways just because of the way she looks. Worms for brains, not surprising

the thing is, conservatives can't quite make up their minds and they get lost in their own bigotry and ignorant rhetoric.

Also it's strange that the Angela Carini 'interview' has been extremely viral and yet when I tried to look for a video of her ACTUALLY saying that I found nothing, almost like the viral quotes of what she said are fake news :coffee2:

The discussion around this is SO weird. According to conservatives everyone is the sex they're born with, but when people have characteristic that go beyond what's deemed "normal" they're suddenly transgender?

The funniest thing to come out of this is them acknowledging transgender people do exist though, which is something they always brush under the rug as "gender ideology" or "wokeness".

tl;dr: conservatives are a JOKE!

Are you suggesting a cis woman with a DSD is no longer a woman?

I have no idea what DSD is—I'm not a medical professional. But the OP's post (before they edited it with dozens of tweets) failed to mention the athlete's chromosomal disorder, which has created a confusing and divisive atmosphere in this thread.

but do you not think that the "conservatives wrongly accus[ing] female boxer of being a man" are not also failing to mention the "chromosomal disorder"? and is that not the clear point of this thread, to call out how conservatives are simply saying "that's a man! transphobes unite!"?

regardless of this "disorder", they are still calling a woman a man to promote their transphobic rhetoric. why is your concern more about whether an ATRL thread included this information fast enough, when it's there now, and when the discussion is barely changed having known this information?
