You obviously know she has and why do you need this forum to grant acceptance of her success?

I'm not sure anymore. Seriously. This could all be bad results. It's the only thing I'm reading on ATRL these days.

I was of the impression that her career was quite good. But I was educated that she may have never had any successful music. That's what I've been hearing EVERYWHERE here.

Its more than just decent..

Yeah she had a cute and lowkey career. Just 19 #1s, two diamond albums, two SOTDs… you know, minor stuff.

She's no Taylor Swift, but a successful career nonetheless :michael:

What a disrespectful question seriously. Goes to show that women would only be considered successful if they're the ultimate best and any hint of failure casts a shadow over every accomplishment. Mariah has had a remarkable career for decades and even that is not enough? It's insane.

What an odd thing to say.

I agree. That may look good on paper. But in reality it's maybe not that good.

And why do you think that ATRL's opinion is important? Most of them are not living in the real world.

She was the biggest solo artist to launch in the 1990's. She was pivotal in evolving the RnB genre. She's had success since (and I'm sure she will again). She was the first multi-demographic artist (I will always prefer her dance/ house side).

The legacy of her influence can be heard (and felt) in Christina, Ariana and others. I'm not a huge fan of the parts of her work that did not involve David Morales, but I watched her evolve from the sidelines and I know how pivotal she was and I saw her rise to fame. That's not something the history books are going to wash over.

Stevvy aren't you in your 40s or 50s :rip: stop this my God. Why do you care so much about Mariah's success and people acknowledging it. She's obviously in the top 3 along with Taylor and Madonna. Mariah doesn't even know your existence!!
