youngpopariana Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) On July 31st 2014, ''This Is How We Do'' was released as the fifth and final single from Katy Perry's 'PRISM'. Peaking at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100, it became the fifth consecutive top 25 hit off its parent album. It went top 10 in Canada with a #9 peak and reached the top 20 in countries such as Australia, Argentina, France, Lebanon, New Zealand, etc... The chokehold KP had on me with both the song and music video during summer 2014 Edited August 1 by youngpopariana forgot sumn 2
Bubble Tea Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Great bop, great video. The iconic cultural appropriation controversy surrounding it added so much flavour, complexity and depth Another smash in the basket me thinks
bushwick Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I remember this was around the early tides of her public perception changing. I remember when Princess Nokia said "**** Katy Perry" in a 2014 interview for allegedly doing cultural appropriation in this video.
BraveNewSeth Posted August 1 Posted August 1 One of the worst off the album. I'll never understand how this was released when WOA, LL, and Ghost were right there. 1 1 1
WhateverYouWant Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Should of been left as a fan favorite album track when they had walking on Air and didn't feel some need to butcher Birthday. Birthday was easy a top 10 if not a easy #1 after DH but that video killed it. Then they ignored walking on Air and legendary lover for that. Edited August 1 by WhateverYouWant 3
midnightdawn Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I liked this song even though it got panned and flopped. I will admit the bridge lyrics are very cringe.
nostalgic Posted August 1 Posted August 1 One of the best off the album. I'll always go to bat for it
Technicolor Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Never liked this song. The album has better songs that could have been singles 1
Poxy Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I remember being excited for the video, but no one else cared much… truly something was different by the end Katy released this
NextBish90 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Aged like milk the same day it was released, imagine nowadays it's rotten cheese.
Jacobdaniel Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) the song actually isn't that bad. but releasing the video in 2014 was pretty tone deaf, especially after katy had already been accused of cultural appropriation that album era. but if there's one thing katy's gonna do it's not learn from her mistakes Edited August 1 by Jacobdaniel 1
WaterDiamonds Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Yeah this was the first brick thrown at the Katy Perry flop stonewall
diemoehre Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) I liked the song and video back then but I was 14. Still think the song is good but I get why it's disliked. Edited August 1 by diemoehre
Princess Aurora Posted August 1 Posted August 1 It was a big no from me even though the aesthetically pleasing video was nice
dumbsparce Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Loved it back then and I still like it now. Walking on Air wishes
