Why is brat's cultural success not translating into sales?

Not the usual suspects spewing homophobic insults in the first posts AND failing to perform a single google search to see that cultural impact IS actually translating to sales, especially for an artist that used to be super niche like Charli.

Or at least she has reached what she can

Nothing that can't be fixed by moving to Sabrina's and Chappell strategy abusing autoplay.

I'm glad she's not, but if she wants to let her keep it for the next album, in case the album doesn't do well (hopefully it will) and it doesn't look loke a massive decline after successful era.

To add to what everyone else has already said:

Spotify WW: Brat Ranking Among Female Albums

Week 1: #3 (NEW)

Week 2: #4 (-1)

Week 3: #7 (-3)

Week 4: #7 (=)

Week 5: #7 (=)

Week 6: #5 (+2)

Week 7: #4 (+1)

Spotify WW: Brat Ranking Among All Albums

Week 1: #3 (NEW)

Week 2: #6 (-3)

Week 3: #10 (-4)

Week 4: #11 (-1)

Week 5: #12 (-1)

Week 6: #10 (+2)

Week 7: #7 (+3)

Hm, it seems the numbers you're so confidently saying contradict the album's cultural success actually support it, how can that be?

Per Kworb, she's #16 on the global digital artist chart (which appears to be across several digital music platforms). She is above the following artists:

Drake

Ariana Grande

The Weeknd

SZA

Adele

Ed Sheeran

Etc,.

Sales means nothing in 2024. Most of the people charting are unknown anyway

The album is a meme, and not all memes translate to career success.  It will be remembered for everything except the music.

Where's the cultural impact all Charli fans are talking about? If getting played at clubs is the measure then David Guetta is probably the most impactful artist of all time

And Biden used this random B side track from Lover during his youth vote campaign in 2020. Does that mean "Only The Young" is the most impactful song of that year Welovetrouble?

I'm sure that song was also discussed on CNN, National Geographic and several late night shows while climbing its daily streaming numbers every day

I don't even like the album but you can't deny it's overperforming

Charli being this discussed in 2024 wasn't in my books, tbh. :gaycat3:

Anyway, as posted before, it is having a cultural impact, I fear.

It's her biggest album to date. How is that not a success? :rip:

Posted

isn't it her most stable album?

uhm a charli record before crash used to only spend like 3-5 weeks on the charts, and that's typically reserved to the UK charts. charli used to be 30-OUT on billboard

Denying that this album is commercially successful is just genuinely cringe, it's giving MAGA levels of delusion.
