Lagerfeld Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) We have been seeing massive cultural domination from Charli's album brat WW as of late. Leading the Kamala campaign, brat summer, Gen-Z culture, LGBTQIAA++ community, poppers community, etc. However! When we turn to sales and streams, the album falls flat. What is the issue here? Paddy Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Because Charli's target audience bought what they could have, and despite what stan twitter and atrl members think, she can't reach out of that circle. 12 1 1 3
Popular Post lustforyou Posted July 31 Popular Post Posted July 31 It's predicted to be number 9 on next week's chart over a month into its release, behind albums from artists like Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, and Eminem. It's been stable in the top 20 the whole time. I'd say that's pretty good 54 2

When your target audience is primarily the LGBTQ+ hyper-pop community, it's challenging for this type of sound to resonate with a broader audience. It's no surprise that the album isn't achieving significant commercial success. 1 1 1 16
Popular Post Kayseri Mantisi Posted July 31 Popular Post Posted July 31 because it doesn't have a commercial sound? your parents, hags, locals etc probably would have a heart attack if they try to blast club classics in the car, it's literally that easy. she's not making childrens music and sales mean nothing. 35 5 13 4

Other pop stars have had massive hits with risqué sound. Artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga for starters... 1 3 5

Not even comparable Charli isn't taking a "risk", she always had this experimental sound. An mpg changing their usual sound can be considered a risk for them but Charli isn't an mpg and she's just doing what she normally does. 2 1

Sales mean everything if you want a long lasting career 3

Popular Post punisher Posted July 31 Popular Post Posted July 31 isn't it pulling 11M streams months after its release? what are u on about… it seems to be translating very well and the amount of brat threads you've made is concerning, it's living in your mind rent free and the gp's, that's why it's a success 56 1
