The thing is, Halsey has always been a LOUD supporter of Britney and even went into to depth recently about how she got permission from Britney, got the sample approved through Britney and wouldn't have done this had she not gotten Britney's blessing. She's not mocking Britney's meltdown or her mental health issues…. 

 

Halsey is battling cancer right now and this is the only story she's trying to tell??

I kinda get Halsey's point, but at the same time she's sampling Britney's song so she feels attached to it for obvious reasons

I don't ever think of Halsey but watched the video to see what this was all about but man, I really think Britney didn't need to do this, idk about permissions to use lucky, but the video seemed completely personal to Halsey's story, so I'm confused as to what picture brit is trying to paint here

it portays halsey as a young girl and after she gets famous. the styling is very britney though.

 

its not even about britney, it seemingly tells the story of how she was pretending she was fine when she was struggling with her lupus and cancer last year. but i guess britney took offense since it uses a sample of her song while portraying a bald halsey?

she is literally singing about her own cancer journey and her own mental health struggles throughout the song. sure there are parallels to britney but outside of the sample (which was cleared by britney/her team) everyone can see it's personal to halsey's life.  

 

btw i like britney and know she's still recovering from the trauma she's been through. i don't blame her for reacting the way she did, she has a lot of misdirected anger and needs time to heal.
