Halsey's video is likening herself to Britney and while she did well in some areas, she did poorly showing Simon Rex as Steven Dorf (portrays JT in a video about her abortion with an abusive ex boyfriend), mentioning the head shaving, wearing the pink hair and making jokes about public breakdowns (this was in her promo video and she brings it up again in the video), etc. Every Halsey reference in the video is a reference to Britney, too. Y'all want to drag Britney for not getting the video, but it clearly went over your head, too.

Clearly someone in her team explained the meaning of the song to her so that's why she changed her mind. That means she hadn't seen the video before hand and Halsey didn't talk to britney
