Taylor fanboy Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Cheeky, relatively more upbeat and more pop leaning straightforward lyricism. Will officially releasing Queen of Disaster negatively impact Lana's brand?
Illuminati Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Probably not, wasn't that the concern when Summertime Sadness remix started blowing up? And then she just continued doing what she wants
Sawk Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Not at all, it's one of her best unreleased and any exposure to dance pop stans will help her 1
SlowGinFizzzz Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) No, it would receive critical acclaim and commercial success. Edited July 26 by SlowGinFizzzz
Velvet Night Posted July 26 Posted July 26 No, I don't think so. It was already quite popular on TikTok and Instagram awhile ago. However I don't believe she will ever officially release it.
Mr. Peanutbutter Posted July 26 Posted July 26 If her brand survived Don't Call Me Angel it can survive anything 10
CottageHore Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Lana has broken the conventions that once slighted her at the start of her career. Lana is an interesting artist because everything she does seems very intentional but also so random so it all works. It's why she can start out with a beat-heavy album like BTD and then make a sharp turn into grunge rock with UV or why she can put out a song like Peppers featuring an interpolation of a rap song by some random Z-list rapper (and have it still sound good) on an album where she's also got her most diaristic, poetic and melody-lacking tracks of her career (i.e. Fingertips and Kintsugi). It's also why she can then a year later put out a country-trap song like Tough and everyone eats it up. Lana always does the unexpected and it's all on-brand because Lana's brand is just her and whatever she's feeling in the moment so her releasing Queen of Disaster would do nothing but add to her legacy 3 2
charmed23 Posted July 26 Posted July 26 She would smash into heaven if she released this gem. And no, the GP and me would still stream this right next to Tough, Kintsugi, Thunder, Not All Who Wonder Are Lost (ok just me), MAC, Summer Bummer, Religion, Cruel Summer (ok just me too) and Radio, because her brand IS insanely diverse and addictive discography

Venice B Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Not really but I rather her not release it, it has nothing to do with what she's currently doing.
