Britney Spears wrote 2 songs for Selena Gomez in 2011?

Lurking in old music forums I found out that allegedly Britney Spears had written two songs with Dr. L*ke specifically for Selena Gomez's 3rd album with The Scene "When The Sun Goes Down", formerly known as Otherside.

After doing some extra research, the news originated from no other than Billboard Brazil, and apparently they were backed up by both Luke and Kevin Rudolf, another producer involved in them, who described the tracks saying the following: "The lyrics are like a drug, so catchy! It's easy, fast and really sexy!".

Lastly, the article mentioned that Britney gave an extra song for Selena that she had scrapped, which was Whiplash, that at the time wasn't announced yet, which gives the whole thing even more credibility. :psyduck:

Why do we think the songs didn't make the cut?

I couldn't retrieve the Billboard article, but here are some news portals announcing the news:

Yes, the one that got released is Whiplash that was written in 2008 so it's the scrap that they're talking about, we know nothing about the other 2 tho :rip:

Whiplash was scrapped for ITZ and released by Selena Gomez, co-written by Britney

Look Who's Talking was already co-written by Britney and released by BoA

Do some research buddy

They were not written for Selena, they were just shopped to multiple artists after Britney rejected them and Selena's team was one of them.

There you go: https://web.archive.org/web/20110430051856/http://200.177.175.41/noticias/britney-spears-compos-tres-musicas-para-o-novo-cd-de-selena-gomez

But the article isn't the original source either, it says it's from Teen Vogue. I was about to look for it but first found that Kevin Rudolf came out denying those claims:

Quote

Last week, "Round and Round" producer Kevin Rudolf was quoted as praising not one but three tracks Britney Spears reportedly penned for Selena Gomez's new album. But when MTV News spoke to Rudolf recently, he denied knowing anything about the tracks Britney wrote for Gomez.

"I honestly don't know anything about it," he said. "I never said that ... I don't know. I didn't hear anything about it. I'm doing some stuff for it [Gomez's album], but it has nothing to do with Britney," he said.

Source: MTV

So it's likely the "original source" was wrong or doesn't even exist. Also, I think it was already known Selena was releasing "Whiplash," all your links are weeks later to this video, for example:

Good luck trying to make some Selena stans understand this. They think everything was written/meant for Selena. Just check the "Songs rejected by Selena" thread. :toofunny3:
