She may have only released her Joyride EP, but Kesha is now gearing up for what could be the most defining release of her career, hinting at a new album released on Kesha Records that she claims features "the best songs, I think, of my entire career".

Now, fresh off the release of her Joyride EP on July 4, which included her independently released single of the same name, Kesha is reveling in her newfound creative freedom ahead of another album release. "This is the first album I'm making where I'm 100% in control of everything," she told Paper. "It feels like it's my first album."

"It feels divine; it feels like it stands for a lot. It's really beautiful, and I cannot wait to share it. It's maybe the most beautiful time of my entire life! I am so excited I got to work with the people I did and capture this moment in time, and put it onto something other people can listen to."

Well, I'm sure that's easy considering Rainbow js her best work by a long shot.

"the best songs, I think, of my entire career".

Artists often say this, and then they often tend to disappoint. Let the music speak for itself and the public will decide.

I mean, she did release multiple albums (and EP even) better than Animal ever since :suburban:

I'm very confused. Kesha ditched her party-girl image on her last 3 albums -- that was a big part of her conflict with you-know-who. Given that Kesha's success was based on this image, I can't see her former label (RCA) creatively blocking her from doing what she is now, which is basically Ke$ha 2.0. I think her mental state of being freed is a big part of this resurrection, but I don't understand why she's playing it like she wasn't allowed. Maybe it would've hurt her court case to maintain a party-girl image?

'Animal' is not even her best album...

well, the fact is that she did not use those words in the title, and that's what's causing confussion xD

she said: "if you thought 'Animal' was fun, just f*cking wait".

so she's saying she's going for a fun album, not that animal is her best or this one is better than X.

I guess that's true. No artist will say "it's my worse thing yet." or even "it's okay." :rip:

Also could be that she just associated it with the conditions she was forced to work under.

now being independent and far removed from it, she definitely recognizes her fanbase resonates with that work a lot more than rainbow/gag order-esque music.

i think she's capitalizing on a sound/image that does well for her and well as reclaiming it as her own, not just a product of what someone else wants for her

that's just not true, High Road was quite literally her party girl sound just modernized, even Rainbow had some fun moments like Boots and Boogie Feet, the only album of hers that was a huge departure from if was her last one

it would have been giving her rapist want he wants - success

eg. gag order was a ridiculously low-key album because it was about her treatment. She didn't give them material that would be massively marketable / sabotage their own owner to go under lolol

high road was basically a glorified mix tape of scraps and other happenings that didn't have her heart in it as an album concept- (of course, her heart was in the songs)
