king_queen Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Bc of the release of CC two black artists topped the country and hot 100 simultaneously. This is the first year in history that just one black artist has done that. 3

No one is aware of these very niche stats you mentioned so how can can it be considered impactful 3

Sazare Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Yes unfortunately. Would have been more deserved for any of Charli's other albums but it is what it is

Brat, the album and subject at hand, for starters The democratic pres elect literally incorporated it in her campaign, and is being picked up by NATIONAL news, not some Billboard article. Not sure where you live but in NYC you don't go a day without hearing someone reference Brat summer, the vomit green is plastered all over, on and offline, on people's clothes etc. Not to mention it having its highest streaming day since release, meanwhile CC was well into a free fall at the same point The receipts are quite plain to see unless you live under a rock Edited July 24 by Attaboy

I agree with what your saying Beyoncé's impact with CC is undeniable and Shaboozey having a #1 is in large part due Bey introducing him to a mainstream audiences months prior. Along with other black country artists. People are being dense on here but these are facts. However it is also true that at the point that Brat is at rn compared to CC it is reaching new heights while CC continued to drop respectively. In large part because Bey left it to die. While CC certainly had cultural impact in many ways and made history full stop. BRAT seems to me a contender in my view for cultural impact for this year as well.
