Highest grossing animated movie is the animated Lion King. It doesn't matter if Disney tried to call that a "live action" movie as if they had real lions and warthogs delivering lines.

Ntm on Frozen II. Great achievement for Inside Out 2! It's been only barely a month and a half since release and it managed to do that!

 

Regardless, just wanted to state that Frozen II still managed to do those numbers (and outgrossing the first part) despite of a portion of critics and audiences finding the movie underwhelming as compared to Frozen, the soundtrack not being as big of a hit as Frozen I, and people not expecting it to surpass it at the box office.
