The fear was having two bad options: Biden vs Trump. But now it's one bad option vs one less bad one. And that also so happens to be Kamala who doesn't really have a huge stain on her career unlike Biden and Trump. So tbh, I see it happening no doubt.
cuteboyzay Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Ngl her being a former Cop is REALLY gonna help, especially with these Blue Lives Matter MFers! OOOO GIRL SHE'S GOT ALL THE BOXES CHECKED!!!
Mezter Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) I'm very pleased. I'll feel less bad voting for her. I didn't think she had a chance before but after seeing Republicans scramble yesterday, I fear she may be a problem Edited July 22 by Mezter 2
bestfiction Posted July 22 Posted July 22 The memes are so funny and contagious. Americans, you better grab your coconuts and Pokémon Go to the polls 4
chiliam Posted July 22 Posted July 22 i need Katy to sit out this election circle. I love the good sis, but her endorsement always make the candidate look like a joke. 2

He will be remembered as a senile old man that was easily tricked into believing Israeli stories about beheaded babies, and claimed that he had seen "pictures of terrorists beheading children" himself, even though IDF leaders were not standing by those claims. His actions led the US into supporting a genocide of tens of thousands of Palestinian lives, or taking into account the numbers buried under rubble and secondary causes of death, more than 180,000 men women and children. He should resign as President now as it has become quite clear that he is not running the country and decisions that should be made by the president are being made by unelected officials who are not accountable to voters. Edit: For all the people that downvoted, you'll love this one. The Biden sheep downvoting you are nothing but nuts. 2
LustSpell Posted July 22 Posted July 22 This is still crazy that it actually happened. Unprecedented times in political history this month 3

If this were a win win for Trump, he and his lackeys wouldn't be having meltdowns on live TV. In less than a day, Dems have raised $65M in small donations. The base is energized and now have a genuine shot at winning the presidency. 3 1
Bears01 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) This was the right move. He is obviously not in the mental capacity to serve another 4 years, and he basically had no chance at winning anyway. I don't love Kamala's chances, but she at least has a chance. Plus, millions of Americans will be relieved to see someone who doesn't look like they're old enough to die at any second Edited July 22 by Bears01 5
Cain Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I'm not American, but when y'all say 'people would never vote for a black woman' is it that serious?? Like, Kamala is, as far as we know, a centrist neoliberal pro cop mixed woman. She's not in the slightest giving pro-Black leftist (assuming that's what would turn people off), are Americans really that racist?

The US definitely has its problems and racism/misogyny is very much present in the country just as it is everywhere else, hence the rise of the far right here and pretty much all over the globe. However all of these aMEriCa WilL nEvEr VoTE foR A bLaCk feMaLE doomers probably never get off twitter to go outside or leave the country to see how things are elsewhere. The fraction of the population that is indeed firmly racist and/or hates women has already solidly coalesced around Trump, so they're essentially insignificant to Kamala's cause. The majority of Americans, and especially those inclined to vote for a democrat, in my opinion would be open to the idea of a Kamala presidency, especially if it means keeping Trump away from the white house. The whole "America is a white supremacist nation" thing is so 2020'd and out of touch, and only serves to undermine the only real hope we have to prevent another Trump presidency while masquerading as wokeness by regurgitating tired Ibram X Kendi rhetoric that even a lot of liberals have ditched Edited July 22 by shookspeare 3 5 1

I think most Americans would, but she has to win in the electoral college and white women vote majority Republican, and a lot of Independent voters in swing states might have racist attitudes.

But even if that were the case, One Drop Rule would mean she wasn't white enough for white privilege, and she's not seen as "black enough" by those who only consider ADoS (descendants of former slaves) to be black because her blackness comes from her Jamaican father.

Reginald Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I can't believe the GOP would choose a candidate who is so past his mental prime. What in the world are they thinking?? Donald Trump clearly is suffering from dementia, this is borderline elder abuse. 9

It's also not 2016 anymore and the opinions about Trump and his track record have already been established. Trump ran as a populist and tapped into a once in a lifetime moment that propelled him to victory. Today, NO ONE wanted Trump Vs Biden again. Any candidate that isn't Trump or Biden is going to excite the base and electorate, I believe. I saw a report this morning that she raised like 66 million dollars in a single night since the announcement too. This is exactly what needed to happen to give dems a fighting chance. Biden was never going to recover. 4

Joe Biden is a war criminal and his existence a stain on American politics. He should spend the last days of his presidency prepping for an eventual arrest warrant from The Hague and getting as much out of anyone else's way as possible. His legacy will be remembered as death and suffering. His failures should he hung over anyone who follows as incentive to push them to not make the same mistakes. 4
