TouchinFree Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) Because this sounds amazing. Not to mention this underground hit she released earlier this year: What do you reckon, ladies? Is Maddy on her way to score a massive hit and become an official MPG? Should other girlies watch their backs? Should Sabi, Billie and Tay scoot over? Is Maddy the baddie here to stay? Monsieurgedeon Posted July 19 Posted July 19 First time listening to the song and it's great. I hope for her to blow up she has been hustling for some time
TrashMagiq Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I really like 15 Minutes but Make You Mine is so lifeless to me. Life Support was much better. She should've gone further with that Tame Impala-esque sound of Home To Another One tbh, I was so disappointed when that song ended up being an outlier on her last album. Anyways, 15 Minutes seems like a step in the right direction.
Bosque Posted July 19 Posted July 19 No because her first two albums were already great. She hasn't disappointed so far 6

Anyways, 15 Minutes seems like a step in the right direction. I'm the opposite. Never really connected with her music and it seemed lifeless up until Make you mine. She seemed to be lost artistically before that, although I may need to revisit some of her work and reconsider. I did enjoy some songs in her last record, but it wasn't something too extraordinary tbh up until this year in my opinion ofc. Edited July 19 by TouchinFree 1 1
Illyboy Posted July 19 Posted July 19 As someone who (re-)discovered her with MYM, I really hope she can kick it off with an album like it and 15M, I want her to join Sabrina and Chapell as the rising new MPGs of this year.

Scandalous Posted July 20 Posted July 20 yes, this is the sound she should've been doing for years but she just INSISTS on the dream-pop ballady stuff. hopefully she's finally taking the hint 1
judasmonster Posted July 20 Posted July 20 she's become so underrated. She produces her music, is a great vocalist live, and has released some of the best singles this year. 3
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I don't think sound was ever the issue. She actually releases really good music that is on par with her peers like Sabrina, Tate, and Olivia. What she's lacking is promotion. I've never heard of her label booking her for a late-night show, festival, or radio show visit. She would benefit greatly from increased exposure. 3
NumbSoul Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Only if "found her sound" means the sound that will get her the most attention/success. I think she's found her sound with Life Support and especially Silence Between Songs and now she's just trying other things. I know the people on here found her albums boring and of course will love the new "dark bops" type stuff, but I think her previous stuff was much more "her sound". I love both regardless, so I don't mind, but yeah. 1
Dante Silva Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Yes but she needs to stop with the beauty poses to camera. They are too obvious and way on the nose. We know she's pretty, what's interesting is contrast by 'grungifying' her visual image but still in a haute couture/ stylistic way. 1
liquiddiamonds Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) Her previous album is awesome. She's on the verge of a breakthrough of sorts, because unlike other flop girls she serve quality and has a vision for her projects. It's only a matter of time until she happens at least with a cult fanbase Edited July 20 by liquiddiamonds
