Should Katy Perry make a pop-rock album?

I truly feel that this genre is made for her voice. Should she make a similar album to her debut?

Ew no. Even if she did it'd be like 3 years too late. That whole MGK pop punk revival sound is already dated for 2024 standards.

She needs to go full country and embrace the white republican women crowd

THIS. Pop rock is oudated af and even though it's her roots Katy will still somehow find a way to get lashings for it. An acoustic album would be perfect

At this point we are all tired of her and I don't think she should make anything. She played us for years, especially this one. Honestly this was the last drop and I think she is OVER for good. :rip:

Yes if she finally decides to stop chasing chart success. :swim:

Yes, a pop-rock and acoustic album would really work out for her. The problem is she mainly put out stuff within that genre when she was a teen and young adult. Since then, I think she has abandoned that genre in favour of EDM and dance-pop music. Probably since it's an angsty genre and she doesn't relate to those teenage feelings now, especially since she is a mother now and is relatively settled in life (outside of the disastrous flopping of WW).

This is why I've been stressing forever that she needs to do an 80s glam and disco-rock, pop album because it would finally show artistic maturity while retaining the quirky aspects of Katy Perry. It would've been the perfect transition after Witness or SMILE. Still, it's a shame she kept digging deeper into the PRISM sound and aesthetic (as much as I love that album by the way) that we are still stuck with a decade later; instead of picking up the best parts of OOTB and TD and making an album with those parts.

An acoustic album with rock influences from her is my dream. Her voice SHINES in acoustic rock with her rich timbre, strong belts, and angelic falsetto.

Yes. It's her strength

Yes. Unless it's Daisies she can keep that crap. Give us glam rock. One of the boys has not aged and remains her best work artistically

I question why she didn't just hit up Dan ***** for the new album considering his sound is very popular. I would've been here for OOTB 2.0 instead of the trite slop she's putting out.

A pop-rock album would be a GAG :jonnycat: OOTB is her best album for a reason.

It doesn't even need to that alternative. Just like a catchy modern pop-rock song. Hot To Go! actually sounds like a sister to IKAG, Hot n Cold, and Teenage Dream. It would fit perfectly on Teenage Dream. Katy should BE doing this.

Yes

We need more pop rock albums. Not this indie, folk, corny pop that's trending right now

Alternative music is bigger than ever but its shifted from pop-punk to folk/stomp&hollar in 2024.
