A-V-XYZ Posted July 19 Posted July 19 All 5 of Britney's 1s had no longevity on the Hot 100 lmao. The fact she only spent 6 weeks in total at #1 from 5 songs tells us Britney's music happens to be very front loaded in terms of success. What makes things worse, 4 of her #1s are completely forgotten haha. 5

Bookmark99 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Her songs that didn't reach number one are MUCH more remembered today. Which is why I don't get why you all obsess over a song's peak on the Hot 100 so much. I'd rather have a song that's remembered over time than a quick #1 that ends up forgotten. 1
skizzo Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Its to make up for the fact that OIDIA and Toxic should've been #1 hits

The one from the album that was a top 6 best seller of 2009? The single with no promotion that debuted at #1? The one that sold 400k + in its 1st week and became her first top 5 radio hit? Nah .
TrieLz Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Womanizer 13 weeks in the top 10 and 3 has 11 weeks in the top 10 clearly a HIT. Both chart longer in the top 10 than recent #1 by MPG this year even HIAM her biggest flop bigger than Yes And?

Her label didn't release physical CDs for BOMT (single) and OIDIA (single) at that time. if her label did, BOMT will spent more weeks at #1 and OIDIA could hit #1 (but her OIDIA album may not break 1M debut)
Bethenny Frankel Posted July 21 Posted July 21 the only one thats debatable is hold it against me but its still a bop
Bubble Tea Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I can't believe she didn't get a number one between BOMT and Womanizer like... Wtf was going on
blueberries Posted July 21 Posted July 21 3/5 of her #1's make less than 50k streams daily so i have to say yes
terrorblade Posted July 21 Posted July 21 (edited) she should've had more actually. like toxic is def bigger than some of the #1 hits of the time and even today Edited July 21 by terrorblade
Raphy23 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I know Womanizer, 3 and Hold It Against Me from a Hot AC radio station that would only play a select few of biggest smash hits from Pop radio stations (mixed in with adult soft music). So those were definitely hits.
ericcartman Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I only know BOMT, oops, and toxic. Unfortunately her catalog hasn't aged well and she didn't rack up enough classics during her imperial phase like her peers did. 2

Most of our #1s from that era have terrible recurrent streams because they were radio hits. Stan culture used to argue that radio was more important than sales. 54 minutes ago, Maroonx said: "3" should've never been #1 tbh, the others are classiques x It had massive first week sales and longevity. 1989 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Out of those only BOMT feels like a #1, so I suppose it's true. However for what it's worth, Oops and Toxic feel very much so like her "other" #1's 1
hugoflegend Posted July 22 Posted July 22 This is delulu. You list all of these hits that have sales, charts, and achievements behind them, but claim they aren't hits why? Because they doen't FEEL like it to you in 2024. Anyone who thinks this way cannot be taken seriously. 4
