naval23 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Usually they can keep up with me, but today we went on a walk and I couldn't be bothered when I saw them behind me (they were still visible). I would wait for them at traffic lights but otherwise continue walking at the pace I do They never brought up anything to me so I don't think it's an issue but I do feel a bit guilty about it looking back. Thoughts?
Batsy Armada Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I absolutely hate having to intentionally walk slow, as I'm a naturally fast walker. But, yeah, I'd feel bad if I just left my partner in the dust. I'd slow myself down as to not seem like I'm trying to avoid him or rush the moment.
tost1 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I mean, yes, if you're going somewhere together, what's the point of walking faster and then waiting for them? 5 2 1
Breathe On Moi Posted July 17 Posted July 17 that's literally so rude. rushing, and for what? to run come post on ATRL? 3

truthteller Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) it's inconsiderate for both of you to walk side by side and occupy the whole path for others. Edited July 17 by truthteller

DoubleRainbow! Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Well it's your partner, the way you're putting it sounds rude
Alldeezy Posted July 17 Posted July 17 my former boyfriend's used to ALWAYS do that. but they also spat in my face and treated me poorly so happy to stay single 1
Orsay Posted July 17 Posted July 17 If you're walking in a crowded area its alright but you better be checking behind you every 10ish seconds to make sure they're staying with you. or else you're a selfish ******* and typical shitty man 1
Illuminati Posted July 17 Posted July 17 If you're a few steps ahead, leading the way and not side by side it's fine. But if you're so far ahead you can't hear him that is kinda shitty, not just with your partner but anyone.
liam13 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 you know what? why dont you grab your partner's hand, look them in the eye and tell them dramatically like you're being filmed "i want you by my side", then proceed to walk while holding their hand straight out of a movie ahh scenario
Lagerfeld Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I've never had a partner, but I would assume it's rude to walk ahead of anybody.
Archetype Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) My partner typically walks the same speed as me (fast) unless he's worked out his legs at the gym, which he then proceeds to walk at a tremendously slow pace to which I purposely take small baby steps to mock him. We normally walk in a diagonal configuration where one of us, usually me, is leading by about 2-4 feet depending on how crowded it is. We only walk directly side by side if the sidewalks are wide enough and not many people are around. Edited July 17 by Archetype
Onyxmage Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I had a friend who did this it was funny to me. Most of the time they dont even realize they are doing it.
Maestro Posted July 17 Posted July 17 A little ahead if fine but sounds like you walk massively in front. That's very weird tbh. You should ask your partner if they wouldn't mind walking faster with you
May Posted July 17 Posted July 17 yes My partner does this to me its incredibly rude ur walking fast and for what, to stop and wait for me sooner or later??? like congrats ig
SapphireSky Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I do this I always look back though to see if he's keeping up
