Comedor Posted July 16 Posted July 16 If wasn't for 9/11 (with all respect), Glitter would have been HUGE. Better movie Better soundtrack Better acting Check check check. 6 2 1 2
suburbannature Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Acting and movie, well, Soundtrack, yes, though. Aged like fine wine.
Breakdown Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Oh, how I agree. You don't know how much I love that movie. And two years ago I was very lucky to watch it in a local cinema and the soundtrack still remains one of my favorite records by her, lead the way and never too far alone 1
Comedor Posted July 16 Author Posted July 16 @sunbathinganimal care to share with the class what's so funny?

Mitsouko Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I'm Every Woman and Run To You > glitter soundtrack > bodyguard soundtrack > ASIB soundtrack The movies are bad. All of them. Hundreds of millions of dollars spent for rather cheap, flimsy end results
Punky Rooster Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Never seen ASIB but no, it's nowhere near as good as The Bodyguard.
Slap Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Rumor has it that Gaga wrote 911 as shade towards Glitter because she has always been fuming that Mariah's movie was better. Spoiler Glitter was not a good movie but the soundtrack was beautiful especially If We and Loverboy. 1
cloudbusting Posted July 16 Posted July 16 it's a better film and soundtrack than The Bodyguard (overall at least - I Have Nothing stomps on it in a song to song matchup), but ASIB is leading the pack imo all three solid tho
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted July 17 ATRL Moderator Posted July 17 Thought this was about the soundtrack, an argument that could be made! But the movie? No. 1
ericcartman Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Sorry no. Glitter was a horrible movie and the acting was embarrassing. The soundtrack is very underrated though. The Bodyguard is tops even with only 6 good songs. ASIB has a few good songs but not a fan of the majority of it. Glitter as a whole is a more enjoyable listen. 1

teresaguidice Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) all three are corny, self-serious schlock tbh. melodramas without any self awareness. a star is born is by far the best acted and most polished, but is super overrated. bodyguard and glitter are at the same level though.
