Hell, they got aggressive skin bleaching ads that run all the time, there are literal documentaries that showcase the racism and colourism in full force. I'm in Barbados and the fact that girls look at you strange, when you say are going to study in Argentina should tell you something.

What in the made up hell? :ahh: skin bleaching is not a coming practice in here, I don't even think I have even seen such ads in my entire life, and if anything people here hate to be pale/white. Like we can discuss these topics but not with random shut y'all made up in your head :deadbanana:

For me every soccer player is homo-, trans- and xenophobic. They take those 14 yo dummies out of school and let them kick a ball for the rest of their lives.

Can't take them seriously.

Not surprised. And the Argentinians only saw this opportunity to be MORE racist, I mean… it's crazy how racism is so normalized and even "funny" for a significant part of the population.

And how many people from the Argentinian team are native South Americans ? :soda:

I guess they can add the Whataboutism Grand Prix in their trophy case too 'cause JFC... It's crazy how they don't seem to understand that their song is racist and rather try to discredit anyone who dares to speak up.

Also I'll never forget how "n***o de mierda" was trending on their side of Twitter after Mbappe's hat-trick. Racism is a huge issue in many countries but that was the first time in my life I've seen it this much violent and uninhibited...

Argentina is the South Africa of Latin America. Except Argentina did go through with vanishing the majority of blacks and indigenous populations.

If you hate being pale so much, why does your president insist that Brazilians are from the jungle and Argentina is European just like Spain? The way you want to act like Argentina didn't whiten their nation, calling themselves civilized. Thankfully some Afro-Latin communities survived, but let's be honest, eurocentrism is still rife in Argentina's society. There is a reason why Argentinean media has sought to uplift whiteness and demonize blackness.

I was hoping you could tell me, the ratio of white Latino heroes and Afro/Mixed-Latino heroes in your media, then contrast that with villains using the same phenotypes.

There was one actually, back in 2021, but nice try deflecting the situation lol

EDIT: And I'm gonna add that I remember clearly that absolutely nobody was there being like "bUt (insert country here) aCtEd tHe SaMe/wOrsE" to minimize their actions.

I am still waiting from proof of skin bleaching being popular.

And I have no idea what you are talking about the villains, we literally do not have that type of productions :rip: can you provide an example of that too?

Like, these are our comic books villains:

And this our telenovela villains (also, most Telenovelas have the villain be from a rich oppressing family):

As for the video, I already spoke on that, Alberto Fernández is an idiot and people here were outraged by his remarks and demanded he apologized, he was even denounced at the INADI which is the Argentinian Institute Against Discrimination.

Anti-blackness is everywhere but in Argentina it seems very pointed and unapologetic. From actively painting themselves as a European nation and actively trying to rid themselves of their indigenous heritage (and other heritage) to the extent where there are articles of Afro-Argentinians being profiled by white Argentinian police officers 1because white Argentines don't believe you can be black and Argentinian at the same time.

What's most upsetting about the conversation is that so many Argentinians are just saying this is football banter when it's clearly not. They don't have the same mentality about themselves thinking that "their passport is Argentina, but their parents are from Germany/Italy/Spain/Russia" or anything of the sort. They also only call afrodescendants monkeys, particularly black and mixed Brazilians.

Something else to add context to this entire topic is that their chant about France wasn't in reaction to them beating France. They weren't even up against France, they were up against Colombia. So you beat Colombia but...you make fun of France? That just shows it's not football chanter and it's just blatant racism

And seeing so many Argentinians just double down on the racism is weird as ****. And the ironic part is that Enzo wouldn't even be regarded as white by Europeans or white Americans, Australians, South Africans, etc.

That post was the one that made the least sense. I have never seen anyone ever bleach their skin here

Feel free to post that thread. Because at this moment there's no way of actually knowing what you said happened since there's no link.

And how am I supposed to do that if threads from that time got archived? Even worse, you couldn't even browse the Forums if you weren't logged in. :skull:

But what I love about a good racist scandal, except of accepting it, y'all would deflect than send the situation elsewhere before accepting it was racist.

Ofcourse racism in Argentina is above average.

They exterminated Argentinian blacks after appropriating tango from them.
