alexrex Posted July 16 Posted July 16 That would automatically go against her values and what she stands for, so no. That would make her a big liar and a hypocrite. I would stop stanning. 2
Dante Silva Posted July 16 Posted July 16 No. Holly Valance's second album is a cult classic and it's hard to feel okay about enjoying it now. However we all saw what happened when Ruth Bader Ginsburg refused to retire and it's apparent history is about to repeat itself with Biden. If only he'd put his ego aside and pass the presidency baton to Kamala (or another younger democrat, preferably hot). So whilst Trump is awful, Biden no longer looks like an Angel in comparison.
Illuminati Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I mean Azealia was literally at the rally and a lot of gays will still bop to her 12 year old album
beautiful player Posted July 16 Posted July 16 No. Unless it's Lana or Taylor. My stan card will remain in tact because the power of the art surpasses everything else. 1
Breakdown Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) yes. years ago when shania made that trump comment (which she later explained and apologized for or something) i boycotted her music for quite a while. it was the stupidest and dumbest thing i ever did and regret it and doesn't have any value whatsoever. i won't allow to stop myself from literally enjoying things that make me happy for performative, worthless "activism". and that's also the reason why i still listen to the superior originals of taylor's discography and not force the tvs on myself which i didn't ask for nor enjoy. suburbannature Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I don't judge my sonic preferences on artists' personal lives. 2 4
ariananext Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) No, at least I wouldn't support it. Maybe I would listen illegally but not purchase/support. Edited July 16 by ariananext
Peroxide Posted July 16 Posted July 16 God I'd be heartbroken. In all fairness, Gaga and Taylor have both been very actively "anti Trump" for sometime but as we've seen with Katy, (as an example) people can change… Honestly, probably… I'd be so sad but I can't support someone who condones what that man has done. 1
Bussea Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) i can listen to an artist's music without giving af who they are as a person, so yes. I'll still drag them tho Edited July 17 by BussC,XOXO
Suilen Posted July 17 Posted July 17 A Japanese artist I liked did come out as one, and gradually I stopped caring about her and the music, it also helps that the new releases aren't that great.
wastedpotential Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I mean... it depends on the circumstances, but most likely. I've gotten pretty good at separating people from their politics (a necessity living in Texas), and I could probably extend that to someone like Taylor
AvadaKedavra Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) Yes. If my fave, Shakira, cries, I cry. If she's happy, I'm happy. We both have a special connection that cannot be changed by the universe. If she goes maga. Lemme get my red snapback Kiddin sistrens Edited July 17 by AvadaKedavra 3
