Would Stupid Love have hit #1 with shenanigans?

there were no multiple versions tricks or whatever during its release, which is something many artists with huge fanbases do nowadays and it helps a lot as we can see.

but what if stupid love had 5 different versions? would it have reached #1?

iirc there were already tricks. idr what people did at the time but i remember shenanigans of the time being used

No, the #1 and #2 were too big. It would have went top 3 maybe.

Even if it did, it would've dropped even harder afterwards. Why would anyone want that

It didn't need shenanigans, it would have debuted higher for sure without a 2 months leak.

no matter what she could have done or not, nothing could've made this travesty of a song a success

one of the most embarrassing songs and videos ever tbh

me! seems like a good song in comparison

Realistically speaking 3 cause did you see who was taking the top 2 spots ?

No, the gap was way too big for it to have any chance

She would have needed hella merch and discounts :foxaylove3:

It was actually predicted to be #3, it ended up being #5 on official chart.

Yes, MIley we have. We also heard the TTPD and some more which did go number one by those tactics and being worse songs than this one..

Actually it's crazy to me that a song that leaked 2 months prior went top 5

like that on its own is impressive

early 2020 had so many smash hits. don't start now, circles, blinding lights, the box. Gaga was up against some BIG hits so it's actually quite impressive it peaked at #5. It was blocked by The Box, Life Is Good, Don't Start Now and Circles actually I just checked. All bonafide smash hits. Blinding Lights was at #7 the week Stupid Love went #5.

If Yummy couldn't go #1 with payola, why would Stupid Love?

No, probably a higher peak but the #1 was out of reach.

I agree lol. Id rather have longevity than a free falling #1 song. Like Bad Romance never hit #1 and its probably the biggest song of her career.

To stay on topic, Blinding Lights was too big but could have gone top 3 for sure

Nothing would have sent it to #1 especially after the leak. It was predicted to debut at #3 but people overestimated the website sales when not even her fans bought it. Maybe it's for the best cause #5-#30 is better than #1-#30 :skull:
