Dom Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I keep constantly returning to P!nk's euphoric major bop "Trustfall" (which miss Ariana of course did better with "We Can't Be Friends" and scored a number 1) and keep wondering why did it bomb chart wise? It peaked at 84 on BB hot 100. However, it has better stats than some number 1's. It has 74million views on youtube, which is for todays standarts quite good for music video on yt. 240 million streams on spotify as well, however all chart peaks are horrid. why did this song bomb so hard, even tho it has all the elements. Catchy, fred…again production, Ariana We Can't Be Friends vibe, slay music video, loads of tiktoks with sound. what went wrong? Does P!nk need to ditch RCA, Roger Davies and get a label that would put her on playlists? I feel miss Alecia Beth still has a fire in her to score a hit.
popmusicisdead Posted July 15 Posted July 15 it's a cute song but the soccer moms don't know how to use Spotify i'm afraid 1 8
Shimenawa Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Cuz she copied Robyn and didn't credit her or aknowledge her influence publicly. Same for Ariana. 1 1
blown away Posted July 15 Posted July 15 P!NK's mainstream career in the US has been over since What About Us peaked, so no surprises here. Pop radio barely touches her music over there. But at least the song was a top 10 hit with longevity in my country. In fact, NGNDA was as well. Even Runaway received a healthy amount of airplay despite not being a hit. We love her over here. 1
Nico Robin Posted July 15 Posted July 15 It flopped in the US but did decent in her core markets. The album did ok as well so no flop IMO overall the US just abandoned her after (Walk Me Home) WAU

Breakdown Posted July 15 Posted July 15 it's very bland and basic as per usual. she's become a 100% touring performing artist, no one is here anymore for her music. 3 1 3
KKKIMO92 Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) Nothing interesting or innovating from her that sparks more interests, but at least this song is making waves in her core audience which is all that matters. Her core audiences alone sold out stadiums, so no need to appeal to new audiences… Edited July 15 by KKKIMO92 Typo 1
Illyboy Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) Did it flop??? I heard quite often on the radios here, and was surprised when I saw the low amount of views on YT (like 20-sth million then) I guess it's just more of a radio song than a streaming one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited July 15 by Illyboy
truthteller Posted July 15 Posted July 15 i believe that she just dropped this album to sell tour tickets (which she succeeded) 3
NextBish90 Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Because it's flat and there's no cultural impact. It comes and goes, made for soccer moms and milfs who wears dresses with flowers.
Underdogs Posted July 15 Posted July 15 It's impossible for early 2000s acts to get a streaming hit without TTH and heavy playlisting TRUSTFALL became a cute hit despite all odds
shakeyourbombom Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I like the song. No matter what she will always have Australia and New Zealand in her pocket

And Lady Gaga could learn a few things from Beyonce bc I'm pretty sure CC is going to outsell Lady Gaga's last 3 projects. OT: Pink's music is very dated and she's at the point of her career where she wants to sing and do as she pleases. Plus I believe Pinks music is a bit too adult for Gen Z. Even vocally they don't appreciate her.
BrokenMachine Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I blame it on Never Gonna Not Dance Again being so awful. If only Trustfall had the push that NGNDA had it would have turned into a bigger hit for her. Sadly her label and team are useless, they just sell tickets as a mere miracle since they don't promote it well either

CC is doing worse than Chrom in healthier streaming period and double the number of tracks Maybe in the US? cause she's local.. i mean, look at her streams
Gabriel Guedes Posted July 15 Posted July 15 We need to stop using the US as the only metric for success. The United States has never been a big market for P!nk, I mean, she only got a little bit of success there after the Grammys performance, which happened 10 years after her debut. Let's talk about Europe and Oceania, her core market, where Trustfall had actually pretty good performance
