Ralf Schumacher, who won six Grands Prix races during a 10-year career in Formula 1, has come out publicly as gay via an Instagram post with who we believe is his boyfriend.

The 49-year-old German shared an image on the social media platform Sunday showing him with his arm around another man with the caption: "The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything."

I know it's everyone's own journey but if he had come out when I was a kid that could've done a lot of good for a lot of people

all sportsmen come out after their career (at least as "sport performers") is over. It's still the most closeted world together with the churches.

1. His boyfriend looks to be in his late 20s at the very youngest (and I'm being generous there). At that point, who cares about age gaps?

2. This is not a "gay" phenomenon but a "male" one. Older straight men also tend to go for young women in their early to mid-20s. I think "barely legal" is one of the top porn categories for straight men.
