Lagerfeld Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Pure talent, raw artistry, and emotion. I wish she would stop trying to get back on the horse and just make real music. We need to defend Katy. 3
Sadie Saxton Posted July 15 Posted July 15 NLTM has been a favorite of mine for YEARS. The kids don't get it like I did 1 1
Gaia Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Ugh I do miss when wasn't obsessed with empowerment crap and just made music 1
Witnessed ET Posted July 15 Posted July 15 25 minutes ago, charot said: and Lost Ugh this masterpiece idk about y'all, but for me, One of The Boys was the Katy Perry introduction and that was the album that has always made me stay. The rawness in the artistry, the self aware introspective lyrics, the heartfelt attitude in deep cut. NLTM is most likely from the same era. Sure TD propelled her to the new heights of superstardom and everything was so exciting in terms of commercial success, but for me, OOTB will always be the era where she made me feel something that made me stay. So having said that, I hope she ditches this need for chasing commercial viability by doing this empowerment crap (I know Roar and Firework are some of the biggest pop classics in history, but you can't always keep trying to replicate that), and does an album with Greg Wells. He seems to always bring out the best artistically out of her. 2
DoubleRainbow! Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Yeah, somehow songs like Firework, Roar, Part Of Me smashing made her think her brand is empowering songs 3
popmusicisdead Posted July 15 Posted July 15 the nun took her to hell with her when Katy killed her i'm afraid
WhateverYouWant Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) Always liked this song. Liked that the album started with Teenage Dream and ended with this. Edited July 15 by WhateverYouWant
