Gwendolyn Posted July 14 Posted July 14 In the past month, there has been lots of discourse over singers doing tours in arenas but failing to sell them out and performing in half-empty venues or flat-out cancellations, this is also due to how ticket prices have gone insane over the past few years. I recently found out that Xtina and Justin had a joint tour in 2002 and Beyonce, Alicia and Missy had one in 2004. Which makes me wonder if they should be more popular? Wouldn't it be a better deal for fans and you get to see your favs all together instead of overpaying? Just wanted to hear your thoughts.
JBJT2786 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Newer acts with less than 3 albums ( unless you're Dua,Olivia and Billie) shouldn't be doing solo arena tours period. If you've been around for a while but you are just breaking ( like Sabrina) this should also qualify. Otherwise do theaters and bring back the club dates.
Paddy Posted July 14 Posted July 14 No. Maybe artists shouldn't be jumping the queue of their career. A lot of artists now think they are massive after couple hits and book big venues/arenas for their first tour... Who wants that anyway? Fair, look it would be good if it's 2 artists you love that is really win-win situation, but what if the artist you love goes on tour with an artist you hate?
byzantium Posted July 14 Posted July 14 No, this puts fans in an annoying situation if they only like one of the artists but have to pay more expensive tickets. I think joint tours only makes sense when the acts have a large amount of fan overlap which is the exception not the norm. 1
The7thStranger Posted July 14 Posted July 14 It would be more cost effective to book mid-sized venues. Joint tours can be fun, but very tricky. And there's no guarantee that those are going to fill out arenas either.
Darius Posted July 14 Posted July 14 No! I love Charli but have no interest in seeing Troye so I ultimately decided not to get tickets
thatsmydemi Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) Not really. I remember when Demi and Nick Jonas joint tour and even though I love her, I'm glad she didn't come with this tour to my country because I'd be mad if I had to sit there and pretend to like Nick's music and wait till my fave comes out. I want to see my fave, not someone else. Edited July 14 by thatsmydemi
