Escape Posted July 14 Posted July 14 This year was insanely hyped due to almost all of our girls releasing.... and before anyone tries anything: There were threads asking why everyone is releasing this year so yeah! Has the year delivered so far?
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Musically, not really. Whilst there have been a few standout tracks, the overall feel is somewhat lackluster. 2
B-Luke Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Yes. All the country pandering music and country in general dominating just in time for Trump's impending presidency. 2016 all over again.
Bimbo Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Well yes! We've had quality bodies of work (HMHAS, BRAT, es) and now we also have pure entertainment to laugh at (Katy's comeback) 2 2 1
JoeAg Posted July 14 Posted July 14 yes in terms of the sheer amount of great releases (and messes that are still entertaining through a pop cultural lens) 2024 is on par with 2010, which is kinda f*cking insane when u really think about it the world is going to sh*t but we're being fed like crazy
Schami66 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I feel like everybody released music but most of them didn't excite me. Arianas album, for example. 1
Digitalism Posted July 14 Posted July 14 More than half of the albums released have no creativity at all or are just simply boring.
on the line Posted July 14 Posted July 14 We got a lot of album releases, but most of them were duds besides TTPD and Deeper Well. Better luck next year, I guess. 1
Daglazzo Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Personally, the only record I liked and believed to be good body of work is eternal sunshine. It's not the best record of all times, it's not even in my top 10 or top 20, but this year it's best so far. Anything else I simply didn't like, trash. 1
Gladiator Posted July 14 Posted July 14 If you listen to more genres than just pop, this year has been excellent for music. I don't remember my "Favorites Albums of <year>" ever being full of so many albums.
