KillingYourCareer Posted July 12 Posted July 12 You guys need to stop being so extreme on everything. It's neither great nor awful, it's a good pop production with some of the most abysmal lyrics ever written 2 1
cuteboyzay Posted July 12 Posted July 12 It's produced very well but lyrically just atrocious. Given Katy Perry is known to be a "good" songwriter it HAD to be intentional. Ain't no other way her and the "legendary" Dr. Luke made this song and cleared it with a sober mind.

There is literally another thread called Is "Woman's World" the worst lead single by MPG?"
dumbsparce Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Far from it but it's not trash either. It definitely didn't live up to the build up, especially when she did the exact same song a decade ago and much better (International Smile).
Dolce Vita Posted July 12 Posted July 12 no because the problem with dr luke's production/songwriting nowadays is that it's way too empty & soulless to land where he wants it to land. songs with left field soundscapes/lyrical personality are what's popular right now and he's still stuck in 2016 with his minimalist, overly polished songs that don't really go anywhere?? at least in his heyday he was able to balance polish with personality and you can tell the artists/songwriters he worked with were always the vessel for his past success 2

ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I feel like Little Mix's feminist themes were too ham-fisted, they were not the kinda group to pull it off unlike Girls Aloud or even the Sugababes. Going for more uptempo girl power songs instead like Power or Woman Like Me landed far better for them.
