In the black gay community: Beyoncé

Outside of the black gay community: Gaga

Is it popper addiction?

The black community is larger than any gay community, and Beyoncé is a staple in black culture period (a culture that influences music to the highest degree). Acting as though black women weren't the backbone to her success since Destiny's Child as if black gays helped her sell out stadiums in Europe is delusional. She's the most famous entertainer of a generation and the only non-white artist in the top 10 highest-grossing live music artists (a list Gaga isn't even on). That alone makes her impact more impressive. Especially if we assumed your logic to be true.

Not the "Gaga has had no impact in years" nonsense coming from OGHs/Hive considering Beyoncé herself recruited a major chunk of Chromatica's creative team for Renaissance, both album and tour :rip:

She even predicted Renaissance's entire metallic silver aesthetic DOWN, even name-dropped it 2 years prior, coincidence or not is so :dies:

Oh Gaga, the absolute trendsetter and visionary that you are.

The way she will always remain ahead of the industry's curve and her peers will ALWAYS follow :clap3:

She hasn't made an album in 4 years and it doesn't seem like anyone really misses her at all.

Then why is she outstreaming Beyonce, despite the latter putting out TWO whole albums (one with 27 tracks, no less) and embarking on a massive tour complete with a wide theatrical release since Gaga's last  :suburban:

Girl those outfits are not even that similar, certainly not enough to call Chromatica impactful. No one was looking at Beys AHAP performance and thought "This looks like Chromatica" :rip:

I can agree/acknowledge that Bey is underperformed commercially (Although CC will still likely outsell Chromatica) but unlike any Gaga album since BTW, CC actually did have impact and start conversations which Is the point of this thread.

Gaga hasn't done anything impactful since Shallow (2018) and there is ZERO hype for her new album.

I think bey has more impact on day to day fashions and with gen z. Im extremely impressed with her touring pull also. People in work like straight white males will go to see her without checking her album or music out (not shade)

Gaga i think has underrated impact esp for the way she only gets one hit single on some of her eras. like for joanne more people started stripping back - there was wolrd building for chromatica which I saw in other peoples projects after

Gaga hasn't really had any cultural impact in a long time, Meanwhile Beyonce has had more cultural both before Gaga's debut and after her decline, so her by a landslide.

Odd thing to say when Gaga just surpassed Beyonce globally on Spotify even though Bey released an album 4 months ago. :skull:

"Cultural Impact" is really broad and subjective, so it's useless to rank impact unless it's clear cut like asking if Madonna or Ava Max has had more cultural impact. Beyonce and Gaga are not so clear cut.

Beyonce has pushed boundaries with genres, uplifted many black artists, had a tremendous musical run lately. Gaga has been ahead of the curve on music trends, championed LGBTQ+ people furiously, expanded successfully into acting in ways most artists haven't been able to. You could make an argument either way, but it's not like one is that much ahead of the other.

If Gaga's so relevant to every other culture, wouldn't engagement with her music be higher?

Beyoncé is constantly inspired by Gaga. The proof is posted on this page too. It is just facts, not arguments.
