The most popular album of this year is Hit Me Hard and Soft In 2035, 2045, 2055... when people talk about music in 2024, HMHAS will always be the main album mentioned and discussed PTSD will be some forgotten fad outside of her cult the same way Butter is (both apparently 10 weeks at #1 "smash" on Billboard). When people talk about music in 2021 right now, literally who will mention Butter? It's all about Happier Than Ever, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo etc. Wasn't that supposed to be the case for their 2019 albums, yet the outcome ended being the total opposite...

They already have a great system of filtering fraud units (especially from streaming). Please if it was BTS, bb would have fixed the issue in one second. 2
vale9001 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 You all act like if all you pop girls back in the itunes era didn't release a new remix every week to stay at #1, a lot of discounted special days to get #1 and stay at #1. Katy Released like 6 official remixes even of the one of that got away. . No remixes no #1. More than half of rihanna #1s where reached in weeks with remixes and discounts. That was happening week by week. They don't compete in the actual market, especially in the album market cause they can't compete. Taylor is there to have a new week at number one by only 5k copies so she compete. Even if you took that hyped up 5k copies more at week still stays like the most streaming album since the week of release expect billie release week. So the deserved #1 albums for sales, streaming and every parameter Of course you were happy to drag her when Lil Nas X was blocking her during lover era with 3 new remixes at week 1

Hard to call her an 'artist' these days when her business is driven entirely by actively seeking numbers and records through all means possible rather than artistry and integrity. Stanning Taylor Swift in 2024 is like stanning a ruthless corporation. But I guess greed and capitalism are viewed more favourably by some when it's a white woman doing it, even though a turd covered in pink glitter is still very much a turd. Sigh. I wish some of you guys could realize that it's possible for someone to be both an artist that creates work they believe in, as well as a business person who finds different tactics to sell said music the way a company does with a product. I get that it's not common for music artists to sell their music so aggressively, and the variants are excessive, sure. But the work itself is solid, and made without those things in mind during the creation process. And that aside, at least it's music she's selling. It's a digital download that includes live versions of the songs on the album, an easy way to drive sales and help her extend her chart streak. She's not doing side quests of selling makeup or whatnot.

SlimyGhoul Posted July 12 Posted July 12 This is so.....like girl enough. lmao. I want her to beat Morgan's record but there's gonna be a giant asterisk next to it cuz she had to do all this desperate stuff. It's tryhard, cringe, and wasteful.

Morgan's "record" is so dumb and specific. There'll be no asterisk cause nobody cares in the first place "most consecutive weeks at #1 after debuting there (since 1991)" 3 qualifiers is happenstance, not an achievement

Wow, I thought it was like...just purely from being there. So there is...really no reason for this hahaha
ThePopStop Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I feel like these releases are basically asking her fans for a donation at this point. No one is actually buying them for the actual content, just as a means to support Taylor towards breaking records. They're digital, so it's nothing to "collect." 1
Shelter Posted July 12 Posted July 12 If this was anyone else, Swifties would be dragging them. The desperation has hit new heights for Swift. 1
Buffy Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I'd prefer if she released something actually worth buying like a variant that contained all the instrumentals or versions that are actually worth listening to. The acoustic versions are the same vocals but stripped back. The acoustic arrangements aren't even great. You can tell they just slapped it together quick Minimal effort for quick sales. Give us the Anthology on vinyl and be done!
TouchinFree Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) It's kinda racist that Billboard blocks K-pop popstars from doing similar spams yet won't do the same to a white person. Nothing's new though. She probably pays billboard the same way she does for music critics. Edited July 13 by TouchinFree

ninetales Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Does she really want this album to stay at no.1 for 20 weeks only to be forgotten after a year? I can't believe her stans are eating this up. It's so bland 1

Drownxngshadows Posted July 14 Posted July 14 😂😂😂 Taylor and her team are really sick for this. This is torture at this point. I mean everyone has known what she's been doing of late and they just let it slide. Insanity I tell you
FallenFroot Posted July 14 Posted July 14 She is insufferable. I didn't even listen to one version. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 16 Posted July 16 It's overboard at this point. Even as a fan. It comes off as fake and manipulative.
