Nelly Furtado - '7'

I take back what I said about the Ballads!!! Better than ever is amazing, what was she thinking not adding a bridge in there? It would have been perfect. Untitled was unexpectedly beautiful....who is Dina :cries:

Take Me down opening with the yodel lol very unique track.

I'll listen to this again tonight with headphones and rank all the tracks, but very proud of Nelly, she crafted a nice piece of work and very well produced when you know her budget would have been pretty small for this album. You can tell it was a group of friends creating music.

Fantasy and Take me down sound straight from Loose :flame:

I love how really she embraced all her sides with this project, but some songs are definitely too short and that - at least on my first listen- prevented me from fully enjoying some tracks

It would be nice if the deluxe contains some extended versions

in any case I am so happy with the album and I will be blasting it for months

was feeling sad the songs are short but she said today in an interviews that it's her own choice and some producers wanted longer versions. but you know gurl you're right if it was right for you it's ok: kinda loving it now.

its not what i was expecting. I thought it would have been more pop and joy. it's not actually.

Ready for myself is missing something…a deeper beat some more rhythm i don't know.

Floodgate and Honesty are my fav

I don't believe her. They shorter lengths were probably pushed and or suggested. No way in hell that she stands by making her album THIS short

I'll be picking this up on vinyl tomorrow. Most of the reactions in here still leave me super excited.

There's not one Nelly era that I really favor strongly over the other so I'm very interested in what this is giving.

The Tynomi Banks feature looks so weird on paper lol.

Save Your Breath is a highlight of the year for me on first album listen :smitten:

Can someone share the alternative album cover in HQ please?

I am so excited to listen, her last album sucked (imo) but I am a huge fan of her first five albums especially Folklore so I am ready for some more Nelly!

I love Honesty so much - why wasn't this released as a single 2 weeks before the album....we know she filmed a video for it.

this'll be my first first listen later tonight! so perched :duca:

are there any ballads on here similar to Showtime or All Good Things (Come to an End) by any chance?

gonna listen to this on my way to work

A) def her weakest album. No artist integrity there, just a bunch of bored and tired top 40 songs combined together. Ava Max can relate :ryan3:

b) web store vinyl exclusive being the better cover is crazy.

c) Nelly had no creative comtrol. I knew that indepeprint would come with a problem. I hate it :( untitled is better than most of the album. Her lyrics are shining for some songs though.

You know what, I got pressed when I read that about Ava Max but I actually agree with this whole statement :dies:

The only song I liked was Fantasy, the rest is just boring

I have avoided the pre-release singles so I am going into this project fresh. Excited to see what she's done.

Ava was the only one I could think of :deadbanana:

love bites is a ******* bop though and needs to be played in gay clubs. I need a 10 min extended starting with the bass then it cuts into the instruments then they start singing. I know they could. An example of something like that  I love is Ashley Tisdale's It's Alright, It's OK Dave Aude Mix BUT Ashley's has "it's okay" singing but maybe Tove's "go head, go ahead now" could be just made dreamily?

the yodel in Take Me Down was Nelly's input and those ballads were mainly Nelly but they were not mad right. All Comes Back needed proper beats and made to sound WAY better. It's great lyrically.

Imagine how good that song could be. Because the yodel was great idea actually but the song just falls flat

And I find the lyrics to be awful and very generic on most of the songs, especially Take Me Down

Unfortunately and as expected the album is disappointment.

Collection of eclectic under-cooked songs under 2 minutes. Many repetitive even in those short lengths.

Let me go and listen "Folklore" to remind what an amazing songs Nelly is capable of.
