k4rmabutterfly Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) Both are huge pop icons with multiple hits, massive albums, huge tours and immense celebrity recognition. Both were also very controversial and polarizing at some point and both had the media and the GP obsessed with them and their personal lives during multiple points of their careers. But who do you think has the bigger and most impressive career? Discuss Edited July 10 by k4rmabutterfly 8
Breathe On Moi Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Justin is basically what Britney would have been had she not tried to rightfully free herself in 2007. take that as you want to 1
itshyolee Posted July 10 Posted July 10 People are gonna say that you're setting Justin up, but this is honestly a fair comparison. They were teen stars with a massive fandom and you couldn't escape them. I'm gonna say Britney just based off the fact that Blackout currently has me in a chokehold 2
iHype. Posted July 10 Posted July 10 They're actually pretty similar. Britney did better with albums, Justin did better with singles (that 2015-2017 hit run is bigger than careers). I would maybe give Britney the win, but if Justin manages another successful era or two that'd probably swing it.

Cheers Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Bieber. He's 15 years in his career getting paid $10m for a global wedding performance. Britney was releasing Britney Jean 15 years into her career. 2 1
Papi Juancho Posted July 11 Posted July 11 (edited) People saying 'set up' when their stats are similar in sales, awards or tours... even in longevity. Of course, Britney's impact/legacy in pop music is huge, but Justin impact is big too. There's Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, Ariana, Dua, Camila, Shawn, Benson Boone, Kid Laroi... a whole generation of Gen Z artists who grew up with him and have mentioned him as one of their influences in music. Shinkirou Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Britney has a bigger legacy I think. Sorry and Baby don't feel as iconic as Oops or Toxic 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Britney was what Justin Bieber was. Biggest teen Phenomenon off all time. But as Career, then Justin will probably win it. Cuz for all of the negativity backlash Bieber got, Britney was twice as bad. Most of Justin's controversy didn't really go beyond teen girls crying about his behavior and fame. But the entire media was literally against Britney. Add on the Drama her family caused. It just incomparable from a pop culture standpoint. Her iconic status is bigger, especially for the time. But JB has just been more consistent with hits
A Million Lights Posted July 11 Posted July 11 As of right now, Britney. But Justin will probably surpass her if his next album do good numbers
Titanbaddie Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I don't think Justin has enough iconography to really rival Britney BUT unlike Britney his music career isn't secondary to his celebrity whereas Britney's scandals and the conversation around her hasn't been music related since maybe 2007?
Feanor Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Britney for now. If Bieber can get another big hit era, then I'd say it'll be him.
Rev8 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Britney ofc 13 hours ago, Papi Juancho said: Of course, Britney's impact/legacy in pop music is huge, but Justin impact is big too. Several of the mentioned, had big words (and even tributes) towards Britney too tho Britney's influence is still loud and clear, 20 years later literally no competition (altho I agree he has impact too)
Starfish Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Justin is an artist who released albums that defined pop culture. Britney is a walking robot who can't even write a normal Instagram post.
