I'm just not sure whether she's deliberately courting all this controversy or whether it's just accidental. After Smile basically came and went I could see her trying to generate publicity via deliberate lashings. This is basically her hail-Mary era, after all

Between this and Dr. Luke, it's like she's selling her soul, morals and body for a shot at success. Is it really gonna be worth it? I mean, it's her body, they're her choices, she can do whatever the f**k she wants. But still.
