Totami Legend Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) They will never serve like Ava or Zara Edited July 10 by Totami Legend
liquiddiamonds Posted July 10 Posted July 10 They're doing great and running pop. Only the ones trapped in nostalgia can't see. Some millennial icons were not all of that either and grew into their own. Gen Z is definitely taking it in a few years 1 1

Erreur2 La Nature Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Some of them are definitely putting in some real efforts in their performances which is pleasant to see.
Soda Pop Queen Posted July 10 Posted July 10 lol most of those performances in OP are mid. Most of the great performers of this decade are still millennials, they're just baby ones or cuspers. The Gen Z's got a minute before they fully blossom. 1
tiagol88 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 They are good...but when you grow up in a time where Madonna / Britney / Janet were giving us iconic performances as entertainers and...hell no. Put on a Mariah / Whitney / Celine performance as vocalists and...hell no. Or Beyonce as well (which has it all really). Madonna's show in Rio alone from like 2 months ago, at 65 is better than any of those OP girls and she's been doing this for 40 years and has a busted leg at this point (although you would barely guess that). They all lack charisma. There's this level of starpower that older stars had / have that people nowadays just don't have and it's not really their fault. Social media in general kinda ruined how we look at new stars. Beyonce can just show up on stage be quiet and pose...and you FEEL her presence. It's hard to describe. There's also the fact that before you HAD to be good at something to be noticed in the sea of musical acts that existed out there before the internet. No record label would bet on you unless you had IT. Nowadays anyone with an internet connection and no record label can be known through some online trend / meme and start a career. That said, i'm not going to be unfair to the new girls. I think artists like Tate (choreo), Chappell (theatrics, vocals, etc), Olivia and Billie (songwriting, producers, etc) etc are still on the rise and will only get better. There's a lot of good music out there but we really shouldn't compare these new stars with the older ones...and say they are "bringing back" something that will never be back for new acts. Dua is also worth mentioning. She's not really new but she's still not 30 and only has 3 albums and is only getting better. They can all put on a great show. I heard good things from the Tate show here in Portugal as well. A friend of mine who's a professional dancer was really impressed with her as an entertainer. I can see her getting better with time. 2 1

Its just not the same anymore and people are different now. Let's just hold on to the pop legends, controversial pop girlz, and Disney pop girlz we have from the Millennial and Gen X eras and support them. Edited July 10 by Afterglow
