Josh Posted July 10 Posted July 10 As the title says; what are signs that a song will most likely be a hit? I'll start: ATRL will either: Hate it Disapprove of the collab choices Find the song boring 1
Rotunda Posted July 10 Posted July 10 TikTok snippet going viral (assuming the snippet isn't the only listenable part) 4 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted July 10 Posted July 10 It recycles and/or copies and pastes as chorus and beat from an old sample that is already iconic with younger generations
katysuxx Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Once a suspiciously large number of ATRL-users start to flood a thread opposing their negative opinion. 2

dirrtydiana Posted July 10 Posted July 10 There are no signs anymore. We have songs from the 80s reviving and smashing, trash songs which have no business polluting the airwaves and amazing songs which should be smashing nowhere near the charts 1
Mr. Stratus Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The 'If atrl hates it' is false. It's if they say it's boring or it's 'hag'd' then they'll it'll smash. Atrl hated SL and… also, the TikTok thing, if it was gonna be a hit it'd be viral there

I always cackle when I see some idiot on here claiming 'flopping bc the music is bad!!!' as if the charts have not been flooded with absolute trash for more than a decade now. Nowadays more than ever it's about the circumstances surrounding a song/artist and luck of going 'viral'. 1
cuteboyzay Posted July 10 Posted July 10 When the people love it before Payola hits. Usually if it starts popping off on TikTok it'll more than likely pop off on the charts REGARDLESS of Autoplay. I mean just look at PPP (despite the payola that came in LATER into affect), Nasty, Million Dollar Baby, Texas Hold Em, HISS and countless other songs this year that INSTANTLY shot to #1 solely because of TikTok and their viral moments. The most ORGANIC ones this year were Not Like Us and HISS tho. Because those were simply rap beef fueled and instantly popped off as soon as they dropped. But yeah, TikTok much of the time determines how big a song is gonna be. REGARDLESS of Payola, cause that can only do so much if the song isn't worth replaying. 1
