A-V-XYZ Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The original by Bobby Brown is way better and didn't flop hard like this version. 1 9
Slayn Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Best cover of ALL TIME. Perfectly topped off her being the most famous woman in the world, it worked so PERFECTLY. 2
Miss Show Business Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Love Bloodshy & Avant's production and the song is a perfect analogy to Britney's life, even to this day. 2
nostalgic Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Better than the original and the lyrics are much more believable/convincing being sung by Britney. The song fits a female perspective better. 6 1
Nippy'sReceipts Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The original is way better but I appreciated the Middle Eastern melody in this one.
Bubble Tea Posted July 10 Posted July 10 One of the best ever covers of a song, it completely fit where she was in her life, what she wanted to say and it came across very well. Should have made a bigger splash. The video is also rad af 1
CandleGuy Posted July 10 Posted July 10 10/10, no notes. In fact, Ms. Britney went 3 for 3 on that Greatest Hits album with My Prerogative, Do Somethin, and (I've Just Begun) Having My Fun One of the most underrated eras ever, and really when she invented the art of serving cvnt that she would later perfect on Blackout. 1
Asparagus Spears Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Amazing cover and an even better video. Wasn't appreciated at the time I hope we see her perform it one day 1
Lachlan Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I was listening to this on the train the other day and it was HITTING. Such a fantastic cover. 2
ChooseyLover Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Always loved it. Kevin Federline kinda ruins the MV tho. I liked it better as a kid when I didn't know who he was. I also loved the original (even preferred it) but after finding out Bobby was an abusive piece of **** to Whitney, this is the only version that exists to me
AMIT Posted July 10 Posted July 10 everybody's talking all this stuff about me why don't they just let me liiive (tell me whyyy!) I don't need permission make my own decisions (OH!) that's my prerogatiiive (that's my pre-ro-ga-TI-ve!)
Zeferino Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Eye-I just remember how they dragged this version in The Proud Family
americanlife Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The song is okay, and the Greatest Hits album came way too early in her career, but I understand it was a different time.
