Which Grammys should Katy Perry have won?

California Girls should've won, and maybe Prism for Pop Vocal (it was a weak field), but that's it.  Her discography is definitely one of the weakest of all the pop girls. :giraffe:

Walking On Air if the pop dance category existed back then

the others were always up against better material :celestial5:

I mean there was so much competition but at the same time she didn't bring nothing worth awarding to

None of the vocal categories but The Teenage Dream album is amazing and went Diamond along with 4 singles each going Diamond. It definitely deserved Album of the year.

Teenage Dream should've won album of the year and pop vocal album. Outside of that, most of the losses have been fair especially with Witness and Smile.

California Gurls or Dark Horse for Pop Duo.

Unfortunately I feel like the Grammies weren't progressive enough at the time. By the time 2021 rolled around it felt like things got more progressive thanks to the wins of Rain On Me and Kiss Me More.

The pop field is really competitive. The should add best pop song for more chances of winning.

Idc but she was robbed from winning Best Pop Duo with California Gurls. Like why tf did a random cover of Imagine by all those khias won instead :rip:

Imagine calling Herbie Hancock and Jeff Beck khias... worms for brains, truly.

Just fyi, the Imagine cover is affiliated with a charity for children (The Imagine Project), which I bet the Grammy voters liked. Y'all seem to forget that at the end of the day, the Grammy voters are other musicians -- many of whom are not vying to be #1 on the Hot 100 that week. So if it's a choice between music legends doing a cover of one of the most popular songs of all time vs a popular (admittedly fun) song with a video of a woman spraying whipped cream out of her boobs in candyland, it's not that surprising they'd choose the former.

California Gurls is the only one where she was better than the eventual (also Snoop Dogg still being Grammy-less is criminal, so two birds, one stone).

None of these, she should have made better music.

Teenage Dream had six #1s. A feat done only by Michael Jackson and Katy. That alone should have won the album Album of the Year.

Maaaaaaaybe this one

Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals: "California Gurls" feat. Snoop Dog, lost to "Imagine" by Herbie Hancock, P!nk, Seal, Jeff Beck & Oumou Sangré, India Arie

It only has two #1s when it was nominated though… and only three by the actual ceremony

• California Gurls - June 19

• Teenage Dream - Sept 18

Grammy nominations - Dec 6

• Firework - December 20

• Grammy ceremony - Feb 6, 2011

• The Rest

soo the Grammys should base their awards off of popularity? Remember that although the GP was bopping along to the TD singles, the critics were unimpressed, and Katy wasn't taken that seriously. all that is important for Grammy consideration (or, sometimes it is lol)
