Pop -> Artpop -> Jazz -> Rock & Country -> Movie Star (Oscars wins) -> Dark Pop (LG7)

 

Taylor:

 

Country -> Pop -> Goth-Punk -> Experimental Pop -> Folk -> MJ Status (Multiple AOTY wins)

Taylor wins though. Gaga's career progression is essentially "artsy weirdo taking over the world by storm" -> "singer and actress who we all kinda moved on from" despite all the mini genre bends that no one will remember or truly value. Taylor's steady rise to apocalyptic levels of success, respect, acclaim,... is on another level as boring as it is.

i thought this would be about progression as in how big their careers get which i would say Taylor, but this i would say Gaga cause she's not only succeeding in music, but also acting

It's not really career proceeding as such to tour and release the same albums with different variants to stay #1. Numbers breed numbers. Taylor realised she failed in acting, she can't bring a box office score, and is now trying directing as a way into Hollywood - Gaga already made it there years ago. For now it's Gaga. The dark pop album will literally just be a quick era to feed fans. It's not a 'step'.

This is all such a reach.

 

She's never done goth punk or experimental pop, nor folk music, and no, naming an album folklore does not make it real folk music if that's what you're thinking. folklore is absolutely a pop album. Happy to be proven wrong if anyone can provide examples of her goth punk, experimental pop or folk music.

 

She hasn't reached MJ status and never will. She doesn't have any classic songs. None of her albums are as revered as Thriller. She doesn't have any important music videos or remembered live performances. She doesn't have the influence he had on other artists. And the "Multiple AOTY wins" explanation doesn't make sense anyway as MJ only won AOTY once so not sure what you mean there luv. :sorry:
