I dunno why we're still hanging on to these metrics as if they mean anything.

Yes, they are ABSOLUTELY an achievement - but they are no longer realistic for most artists in today's market... no matter how popular they are.

Besides, the allure of these sales markers has been greatly diminished by Taylor Swift nabbing every "record" over the past couple of years, mostly thanks to her very strategic marketing and her rabid collector fanbase. It's no longer a measure of monoculture, it's now a measure of who has the most loyal fanbase with disposable income :nicole:

Lol what? Platinum albums from streaming is not hard for a semi popular artist. All of H.E.R.'s albums have at least 1M:rip:

Yall have a crippling addiction to cringing her up more than her fans do. The parasocial relationship goes both ways.

OT: Camila is not and never was a Gen Z icon :rip: She was the last wave of millennial culture alongside Halsey and Ariana.

I don't know how much that sold but it only charted for 14 weeks so it may not be eligible for Platinum. It depends highly on recurrent stats & the album basically had no US hits so idk.

Wonder peaked at 18 and Monster at 8. Both have over 600m streams

The album peaked at #1 with 89k

Those are global streams though. Both songs were frontloaded in its actual chartrun
