B'Day is the era that I became a stan so I am extremely biased but I think considering the constraints she had in place in creating the record in 2-3 weeks the output is pretty impressive. Some of her craziest vocal moments live on B'Day and a lot of the Beyoncé-isms we have come to know started with that era. It also imo established her has a top tier performer. Dejavú at the BET Awards to this day is an iconic performance and The Beyonce Experience was an amazing debut arena tour showing how hungry she was then. 
 

IASF was more muted in comparison and definitely more generic. The saving grace was the huge hits, visuals and her vocals were at peak performance during that era. I definitely understand why it's her biggest era all things considered. A lot of pop fans especially here on ATRL love it over her more acclaimed work so that says it all. Nowadays it's my least listened to album in her discography. In some ways it didn't hold up compared to BDay or even Dangerously In Love.

Oh B'day is sooo so good. The production and vocals are literally insane. I'm sorry but her following album is a hot pile of flaming feces by comparison.
