I think two generations of people already knew of Ariana because of Victorious. Back in 2015, I saw her as a star who had transitioned, rather as a star that had recently emerged. She and Shawn are not and will never be on the same level in that way.

It's names like Camila etc that are missing that makes Shawn's inclusion feel weird.

Harry was also known for 1D, Camila for Fifth Harmony etc.

Dua and The Weekend are icons cause they shaped the synthpop-synthwave-disco sound of the 2020s :giraffe:
Billie and Olivia are like Britney-Xtina / Gaga and Katy. The major pop girls of this decade. Iconic.

Forces to be recogned with, but too local:

Bad Bunny

Karol G

Morgan Wallen

Funny how you put latinos here and want us, the latinos, to believe that SZA and Travis Scort are MPG/B when they are non-factors in this region.

Ice Spice

Lizzo

Megan Thee Stallion

Tate McRae
Central Cee

Jack Harlow

Lil Nas X

The Kid Laroi

Not you relegating the bolded to being "tiktok stars" when they are multiple Grammy winners and more successful than the others in this list, esp. Lil Nas X who is already in the history books for setting records and making several significant inroads in the music industry. A speed bump in the road does not render their mainstream success invalid all of a sudden, even if they had one of their hits go viral because of tiktok. Tiktok is the main avenue to a chart hit these days and all 3 did start rising coincidentally at the same time tiktok did.
